To confession 8455: But you do realize that Evanescence probably won’t come back, right? They’ve always taken their time writing music and putting out a new album (3 years for the Open Door, 5 years for Evanescence). But now Amy is starting a family. She’s having a baby. That is going to be her number one priority and she probably won’t even think about starting a new album for at least a year after her baby is born. I’m well aware that some artists continue writing and making music soon after starting a family, like Sharon den Adel, but Amy doesn’t seem like that type. She took two years off after marrying Josh so she could be a wife. She certainly isn’t going to continue making music right after having a baby. Even if she decides to start making a new album relatively soon after having a baby, Evanescence doesn’t have a label any more. That’s going to make the process much more difficult, time consuming and expensive. With those two things (baby and no record label), Evanescence probably isn’t coming back.
