So I'm not playing wow at the moment. I feel somthing is very wrong with the game at this point and I've lost almost all interest in it (not mogs). But I saw this today and thought it might be a nice little mention, always up for more customisation.

So, the latest info about 9.1.5

There are a lot of conversations on whether this is enough to come back or not on various online forums and other discussion platforms, and personally: No. This isn’t enough for me.

The main reasons are basically: 

Too little too late. 

The fundamental problems are still there. 

And the last but not least, covenants and their systems “don’t matter.”

First of all, I don’t need them to “fix” the game a year after release, based on feedback given back in alpha and beta. I need them to fix this shit after they receive the feedback during testing period, before they go live.

I don’t expect or even suggest anyone to listen to bunch of people constantly screaming all over reddit or twitter. But when you invite bunch of people to alpha and beta, you specifically ask for their feedback. Then they give you the feedback in the specifically designed forums, in game tools and video essays. Fucking listen!

You can argue randos don’t know what they are talking about, but people like Preach absolutely do. There is a significant amount of good players who are also content creators themselves who KNOW how this shit works. If you want real, constructive “criticism”, these guys are the best out of any medium. People who have made their lives and livelihoods based upon playing and figuring out games, writing guides, inventing metas, know how games work. And their mettle is proven by all the previous times they figured your shit out.

So when they tell you “if you do this, this, that and those are gonna happen,” you should fucking listen!

Instead Blizzard has been at war with these people. Their entire design philosophy for the past few years, has been building a game that these people can’t figure out the optimal/meta ways of, regardless of how much that negatively impacts other players.

Constantly getting pissy, lashing out against those players, accusing them with ruining the game, is not the way. 

So no. This isn’t enough. It will be “enough”, when they release the next expansion, having listened to the feedback given during alpha/beta.

Secondly, the way they defend their ridiculous decision on covenants, tells me they have learned nothing. The fundamental problems with which the way the dev team thinks and behaves, haven’t changed. They are just forced to begrudgingly give us what we want, because they are losing players. After they had already griefed us for over a year.

And lastly, covenants don’t matter, because they are not core or permanent additions to the game. It’s just another parasitic system that’s gonna get rotated out when the next expac comes along. So fixing it during what is essentially the middle of its life cycle, is meaningless. I don’t need covenants “fixed”. I need them to stop making moronic leech of a system like covenants going forward.

Blizzard should focus on adding and expanding the game with ever green content, instead of reinventing the wheel every two years, making it a square and then getting all indignant when experienced drivers tell them those wheels won’t work.

I am having a pretty chill, fun time in FF14. The story is pretty interesting, I got over the constant cinematic overload, combat is eh, visuals are nice. Most of all, logging in and having friends and strangers both to play with is fun. Also, Limsa Lominsa is dope.

Personally, I think I will only return to WoW when the next expac comes, and only if they have implemented cross faction pve full with guilds, don’t have a stupid ass new borrowed power system (bring back tier sets ffs) and have half a decent story.
