I don't normally watch reality tv, but my favorite streamer does watch parties with them sometimes and his favorite series to show us is 90 Day Fiance.
Anyway, this current season features an early 20s woman from Madagascar named Trisha and a 52-year-old American man named Rick. Trisha is BEAUTIFUL, sweet, has a good job as a midwife, and wants to start a family. Meanwhile Rick is an absolute deadbeat who constantly accuses Trisha of infidelity EVEN THOUGH RICK CHEATED ON HER HIMSELF (he literally GOT ON A PLANE to fuck his ex), doesn't want more kids (because he's fifty fucking two and already has kids from previous relationships), and is basically unemployed.
He treats her like absolute garbage, is OLDER THAN HER FATHER, and is bringing absolutely nothing to the table and yet she still wants the relationship to work 😭😭😭 But they're not even the worst relationship this season!! It's so so dire!!!
90 Day Fiance is so fucking frustrating because every season has men who are dating women WAY out of their league, which isn't inherently a bad thing. But you can't be a schlubby guy with few prospects AND an asshole to your girlfriend. Pick a struggle.
What I'm saying with all of this is that the bar is in hell for straight men and they still trip over it. What are we doing to our beautiful queens???
