90s Leo vs 2012 Donnie
Okay so like. I’m trying to be as impartial as possible in these. But there’s no getting around that 90s Leo is simply a better ninja than 2012 Donnie. Better form, quicker thinking, more manipulative, much less likely to second-guess himself into freezing up. Would win in an arm wrestle or a staring contest. I would give 12 Donnie the stealth advantage since the 12 turtles are particularly good at that, but the thing is, the first 90s movie has a very stealthy Leo too. Also that spiritual awareness that 12 Splinter specifically identifies Donnie as not having.
Let’s give him at least one advantage/acknowledgement: Donnie knows how to use his environment. And he’s much more decisive and quick when he isn’t nervous, which in a tournament style competition like this, I do think he’d be more level-headed than he sometimes is in, you know, life-threatening situations. 90s Leo, on the other hand, seems to shine more in high stakes situations, though he still does plenty well at training. But hey! Maybe Donnie can turn the kicked puppy look on him, this is definitely a Leo who would be susceptible to that.
