This past weekend I was listening to KNOW 91.1 radio here in Minneapolis, MN. Click on the text link to go to the live show and see the current calendar.
The show I listened to this past weekend was "The Moth: True Stories, told live." This particular show had a member of Run DMC who told the audience about a serious time in his life. It was well written and well told, and had everyone in the audience in awe as well as laughing. We all came to understand that Darryl "DMC" McDaniels had one of those feeling or emotional moments. One of those times where everything seemed not just okay, but great. That his "strange" feelings didn't make sense, but still... there they were, as real as the nose on his face, as they say.
Listen for yourself. I hope it helps to support those times you when you had, having or will have one of 'those' moments. Moments of self-awareness that contradicts what you had long understood. That everything happens for a reason. Challenge conventional ideas, consider being a leader. You can do it.
In this story Darryl McDaniels, after searching to understand what is going on about the emptiness he was feeling, discovered he was adopted. So Darryl asked Sara McLachlan to help him do a remake of Harry Chapin's "Cats in the cradle" - Run DMC style.
Below is the audio of the song "Angel" that was so significant to Darryl.
