Action Bronson - 9-24-11
Action Bronson is one of the few rappers that can fuck up a few times in a one take song, and not only recover, but make it seem smooth as fuck…so smooth that after a few listens you just know it as part of the lyrics. Almost as if that was his intention all along. This provides 9-24-11 with a lot of personality, and it exemplifies the essence of what makes Action Bronson one of the most consistent rappers in the game. He doesn't give a fuck about how people perceive him...he just keeps chugging along, not skipping a beat or stopping for shit! In my eyes he’s the new-school/indie version of Ghostface Killah. I say this even though he hates being compared to Ghostface Killah, but his flow and lyrical style are undeniably very similar. This is my favorite song by Action Bronson and you can find it on his solid 2012 mixtape Blue Chips. I also ranked 9-24-11 the 50th best hip-hop song to come out last year for my 60 Best Hip-Hop Songs of 2012 list, which you should check out if you haven't already.
