Soft life is the best life
A bit of musical expression because this is just what’s on my heart at the moment.
I’ve been obsessed with Epic The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans lately and felt like singing this in light of everything happening in the United States. In “My Goodbye,” Athena scolds Odysseus for making a reckless decision and refusing to listen to her wisdom, which he ultimately regrets later as he loses all 600 of his soldiers and takes even longer getting back home to his family.
Many of us have been warning folks of everything that could go wrong under another “45” presidency and now we’re seeing it play out before our eyes. Some are pointing out how history is repeating. Some are preparing for prø+€$ts and ₩𝐚r$. Some are regretting their previous views or lack of information. Some communities, like the 92% of Black women voters, are taking a step back from it all because we are always the canaries in the coal mine and no one listens to us until it’s too late.
To be very honest, I don’t know if I even have a solution for all of this. Right now, I’m just expressing myself through song. The most we can do at this time is keep our loved ones and communities encouraged and cared for as we embark on this…interesting new era in our nation.
These times are quite frustrating, but your emotions are valid. We can still get through so long as we don’t stop pushing forward. ❤️🩹
(I do not own the rights to the music. The soundtrack belongs to Jorge Rivera-Herrans and the cast of Epic the Musical. This video is meant for entertainment and informational purposes only.)
Black women have been carrying the torch of activism behind the scenes for centuries through slavery, civil rights, women’s rights, and BLM. We have fought for all marginalised groups to have a better quality of life. In this recent election, we fought hard again. So I present to you this platform.
This platform is devoted to black women who have always fought for what is right and put others' needs before their own.
This platform is devoted to politics and uplifting black women.
This platform is devoted to being a safe space and providing community.
This platform is devoted to the black women who are pissed the fuck off about what is currently going on in the world around them.
This platform is devoted to black women tired of fighting the good fight.
This platform is for the 92%.
Welcome.

Ladies, we will collectively rest our nerves a little more on that day.
Request that time off now so there are no issues.
Did you enjoy the Super Bowl?

Every time I get on Threads and see somebody say “WE did Kamala wrong…” Baby… who is WE? 🤨 Cause the 92% & the 78% did OUR part. Black folks showed up like we always do. Don’t throw us in a group project we already passed. What actually happened? Some of y’all let that election get played in your face and still didn’t listen to a Black woman… per usual. And now folks trying to do the same thing they tried to do to Jasmine Crockett… twist the narrative and blame the very people who been calling it out the whole time. So again… who is WE?
Anyone: I can't believe how bad those leaked young republican chats are.... Black people: Bitch fu we been knew!
“This is not who we are “
black ppl: America you’re fucking lying your a racist bitch since the day you were born!
