the canon family question makes me bluescreen a little because, as someone who stayed on kamino my entire life, i spent A Lot of time with vod’e who were never shown on screen, and they all meant the whole universe to me. but there was one in particular who i remember more clearly than the others. i think she was named sunny. she gave me a tattoo on my forearm of a phase one helmet, holed up in the medbay in the middle of the night. i taught her how to rewire a busted battle droid, and she was eventually made an arc trooper. i’m still really, really proud of her.

oh, something specific i love about mando’a — the whole language is gender neutral. “vod” is brother, sister, and sibling all wrapped up in one word, so saying vod’e embraces every other clone, even if they weren’t my brother. (they were all my little siblings, though, aside from the rest of the alphas since i was the baby of that bunch in particular, and i love ‘em all to pieces.)

my base emotion is honestly just “i love my vod’e so much they’re so cool and i’m so proud of them all :)” but sometimes i get into a headspace of “i fucking HATE the kaminiise 🤬 KILLING WITH HAMMERS 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨” which to me is almost funny. i contain both immense love and burning hate that — had i been force sensitive — would probably have been at least a Possible path to the dark side 💀 good think i wasn’t, i guess??

i love mando’a and culture so much. i miss the scraps of it the other alphas and i picked up from jango (and boba, once he was old enough to understand it and argue with us about it), the compilation and further dissemination of that combined with what the rest of us clones learned from the cuy’val dar… the emphasis on fighting made sense, sure, but the fact that family and teaching future generations was also so highly valued? i mean, it was only reinforced when the other alphas started training the arc troopers. not to mention the songs — “vod’e an” hits different when you’re surrounded by millions of siblings.

i won’t say it wasn’t without its faults — [gestures vaguely at mistress ti and 17’s argument in the comics] — but the fact that we went on to work with the jetiise so closely led to a beautiful marriage of philosophy that i think tarre vizsla would’ve been proud of.

i wish things had gone better for us in canon. our subsect of mandalorian diaspora was incredible. i’ll hold it in my heart forever.

one of my kintypes has literally No official merch. none. zero. naasad.

that said, i have several pins, a custom lego figurine (that i have yet to put the markings on, whoops), and a much-beloved 1/6 scale figure made of several black series figs. it’s actually the only one i have, despite desperately wanting the figures of my squadmates, too. (maybe someday.)

i found him while looking for something specific on instagram, and it was like jate’kara. i didn’t know i was kin with him at the time, but it was well worth the money either way.

i miss the other alphas. yeah, we got in fights and pissed each other off. that’s how siblings are. but sometimes we’d all end up sleeping in a big pile together. a hundred traumatized, buff as shit, eight year old assholes just huddling for warmth and safety on the floor. it was hell on the back, but i never would’ve passed it up for anything. i can’t put it into words, how loved it made me feel. ni kar’tayl gar darasuum, vod’e. hope you’re all doing well. -99

i miss my vod’e. it got lonely sometimes, since they’d always be shipping out while i had to stay behind and i wouldn’t know when or if they’d come back, but i miss them just the same. i hope they’re okay. i’m always in your corner, di’kute (loving) -99
