@99suns okay SAME like tbh I’m pretty sure this only happened now bc of Wonder Woman. Like I think Disney finally answered our requests becuase of that.

@99suns I’m going to say to you what you said to me: I totally get it! Black Widow isn’t my favorite character, but she’s by far one of the more intriguing ones. However, in the MCU, I fail to see the complexity. It’s due to many reasons, such as who writes her and—I’m trying not to get my own bias in the way but—who portrays her. Like, after 2015 I can’t stand MCU Widow/Scarno. That’s due to a lot of reasons and don’t @ me but...I think The Avengers (2012) is one of her best movies—if not her best. Yeah, her role in TWS was good and I liked it but I’m going to be stubborn and say that they should have been Sharon/Emily VanCamp (which is a different tangent, so I won’t go down that road lmao).

But literally we’re only getting this movie for corporate values. I can clearly remember that fans have been begging for years for a Black Widow movie, but were denied relentlessly. The only time I can remember the topic being brought up by Disney is after the success of Wonder Woman. Literally we’re only getting this movie because of greed for the lack of a better word, lmao. (It’s probably also why we got Captain Marvel as well.) I also know that Marvel (or whatever) was being helmed by someone who liked rather...traditional/conservative values and apparently now the leaders are more open-minded. Idk how true that is, but I will still hold some of grudge with Disney, who I’m not the biggest fan of anyway. I literally hate them with a burning passion but you are absolutely right with everything you just said.
