To my bessie Pat aka @9ri / @avisalaencantadia, thank you so much for these, sobrang napasaya mo ako ngayong araw na ito! This means so much to me especially ngayon dahil naghahalo-halo ngayon ang stress, frustration at pagod ko lately to the point na feeling ko sasabog na talaga ako. Iyak ako ng iyak nu’ng isang araw dahil hindi ko na talaga kaya pero abot-tenga na ngiti ko ngayon (promise!). It must be God’s way of reminding me na malalagpasan ko rin ang mga pinagdadaanan ko ngayon, and that I need to smile, stay positive and move forward. Forever kong mamahalin ang Encantadia, and I am actually grateful to the show dahil nakilala kita hihihi! Pero sana dumating na talaga ‘yung time na magkakilala na tayo in person. Again, thank you thank you so much bessie! E correi diu!

Omg I feel you! I expected more from Amihan's sarkosi... I hope at least they get to explain what happened to Ariana's own ivtre.

Agreed! Otherwise I’d be stuck thinking there are two ivtres occupying Ariana’s body, her own and Amihan’s. I doubt a switcheroo happened, with Ariana’s soul moving on to Devas and Amihan’s ivtre replacing the latter because upon coming back from the dead, we are treated to seeing a character who acts and sees herself as Ariana, but with the addition of Amihan’s emotional baggage and fighting skills. So we’re seeing a situation where the person is Ariana most of the time, but Amihan sometimes bleeds through.

If a switch indeed happened, then I’d rather Ariana suffered the cliched amnesia (never mind that Alena already went through the same thing...and the whole of Encantadia as well during the time Lira was Kamby). At least we’d know why Ariana lost all memories upon being revived -- because that’s really not Ariana anymore, that’s Amihan, and as we were told, she’d remember nothing when she went back to Encantadia. I wouldn’t like it, but I would be able to make sense of it. Canon sarkosi is just confusing for me as a viewer.

I feel bad for Ariana. Everyone else seems to think that what happened to her was a privilege, but try waking up one day with feelings and abilities that aren’t yours, and see how you’d handle it. >.> The poor girl just wanted to help her tribe and her family then she gets killed and now she has to deal with all of this.

I mean, I get the appeal -- there are a lot of contrasts between the two: Amihan has several sisters and is the second eldest, Ariana has one sibling, an older brother at that; Amihan as queen is not allowed to marry, Ariana was supposed to marry someone she does not love; Amihan is a strong warrior and was trained by her father and by Aquil, Ariana does not know how to fight because her tribe does not allow women to handle weapons. So of course, for narrative’s sake she’s perfect for hosting Amihan’s ivtre.

But the same circumstances could have been achieved by just having Amihan be reborn as Ariana, not her having gone to Ariana’s body when the latter died. That’s just shady.  At least if the former happened we could at least argue that there has only ever been Amihan’s ivtre, just with a new vessel; and then I wouldn’t wonder if the whole sarkosi thing is just a case of an encantada’s body getting stolen.

Lmao, I remember getting ticked at my friend saying Rafa is way too ugly to play the dad of  Sanya and Gabi. Like okay he’s less my type than, say, Carlo or 2005 Alfred (woop, I like morenos with pretty eyes I guess?), but it what world is a man like that “ugly”??

I already automatically expect this of Western fandoms (alas) but didn’t expect it to thrive here. Kainis talaga eh. Huwag sana dito.

What really gets me about this all-new handwringing about Jovente*  is that…people shipped Goyo/Rusca for ages without regard to both historical figures’/character’s  very different ideologies?  And from what I osmosed back then, no one cared! I’m not saying that GR  ship is ~wrong (hindi ko siya masyadong magets, pero I like people having fun!), I’m saying hello, perspective. And uh, Emilio “now I’m the villain in your history” Aguinaldo is in these movies?  Yet fans seem to be able to love-to-hate/hate-to-love Mon’s interpretation of the character without falling into a moral quandary.

*I mean, I’m already thinking up fic scenarios where one of Vicente’s descendants is like, “omg Lolo and Lola were in a secret poly relationship with their photographer friend??”  or where Joven shacks up with Vicente while they both have war flashbacks and feel very different kinds of guilt about the Bernals , so uh, I really ain’t no moral guardian. It’s fandom! Gusto ko lang ng angst, puwede ba! 😂😅
