This is a daily reminder that changing views and opinions does not make you a hypocrite. Sabi nga don sa tweet kong nabasa, such mindset extends to our education system whose mission is to correct/improve the “virtual” reality we’ve entrenched on ourselves. It’s good if you’re a principled person, but you can’t be so without even having the time to reassess and revisit every side of the dialogue. 

Isa ‘to sa mga rason kung bakit mahirap ibahin opinyon ng ibang tao despite the loads of facts and significant evidences presented to them. Bigyan mo man ng ganto ganyan, “bible pa ren kame mga ulol!!!” ang response. Most of these people have sided with their religion for years and ok, nothing wrong with that. But dont come shoving down a piece of fiction you believe in down every people’s throat just because you’re the majority. You can’t use bible every fucking time you’re starting to lose the argument, let alone use the word of God selectively to fit in with your agenda.

Basic commandment of God nga e is not to lie e. Sure naman akong nasa very core din ito ng bible pero bakit di niyo masunod??? Kasi nga diba, selective kayo as to which of which you’ll follow diba??? Feel niyo kasing marami rin namang nagawa nito kaya oh ayan okay lang. Alam niyo bang bawal din ang kasuotang more than two fabrics para sa mga kristyano??? Na promoted sa bible ang patriarchy and rape and genocide???? Na ang constitution ng Ph despite not siding with any religion and being deemed “rational and fair” ay hindi naman talaga? Na talaga namang nakabase lang din ito sa bibliya?

Pero wala. Hirap kasi sa ilang mga relihiyoso kong kakilala, palibhasa sila itong mga banal at may mga rosaryo sa bulsa ay sila na agad ang mabubuti. Ive had so many xps kung saan kapag may masamang nangyayari saken, sasabihin nilang, “ayan kasi kaka-dislike mo sa religion” which is super illogical and unfair kasi pag itong mga ganito ang nangyayari sa mga relihiyoso, “ay. plano yan ni god bes. trust him lang ano ba.” Oh diba ganyan! Nakakaloka. 

This is why we should blur the lines between spirituality and religion. Ako ha, as a person talaga bimb, I believe in God. I was once agnostic pero nahirapan ako to deal with the fact na walang God kasi nasanay na ako cos of my parents. But I untethered His love to me from my love to the idea of religions. Hindi ko kasi masikmurang satsat nang satsat yung mga pari abt “uy mga bes give money naman to the poor” tapos aba mga kotse ga naman pag pupunta sa chapel naman dine daig pa kotse namin bimb ha. “Love one another” napaka-basic diba???? Pero ayon, hate the gays daw. Hate homosexuality raw. wowz naman. 

Simply put, para magkaroon ng common ground tayong lahat dito, be empathetic and critical enough. Hindi nga kasi pwedeng side mo lang pinapakinggan mo while debating. You should have both ears open for mooting and critiquing + an open heart and fair mind to judge as to which side you’re gonna lean on. Love love love!!!

They will… as soon as the baby is born and Paige is gone and A.D. is in jail and the father of the baby is revealed. It’ll happen.

A Feast for Cicadas || Solo

There were nights for feeding, there were nights for partying till the dawn and sometimes there were nights where you just needed a long, brisk walk in the cool air to clear your head. As a teenager, Eloise had gone on aimless walks frequently enough to alarm her parents, letting her feet carry her as far as they would go. She'd liked to pretend she was out on an adventure, her mind transforming interesting people and ominously looming trees and buildings into threats and allies she met on her journey. To the relief of her parents, she always came back without a scratch on her.

The noises echoing through the trees off the road brought those past flights of fancy back to mind, but tonight, Eloise had a destination. St. Mary’s Church beckoned to her in the distance, a speckle of architecture on the other side of the lake that seemed to be a gaping black maw now that darkness had fallen. A holy water gun was a good idea, but there was absolutely no reason to involve some priest in it when she could just sneak in and take it, was there? If Father Francis knew about the supernatural, he probably had vats of the stuff there.

On a whim, Eloise left the side of Dark Score Lane and trudged through the undergrowth down to the lake. She’d hardly be getting lost now that her target was in her line of sight, and the growth underfoot wasn’t thick enough to offer that much resistance. Already, she could feel the pleasant breeze coming off the water, and the slope was lush with grass and the occasional late summer flower. Every other step she took, moths and grasshoppers and cicadas and other night life would rise from the disturbance to disperse in a cloud around her.

She walked along the lake, humming to herself, and only noticed the body in the grass when she nearly stumbled over it.

It was still. Unnaturally still, but even so, for a moment all she could do was stare at it in confusion.

“...Um, hello?” Eloise asked meekly, frozen where she was a few paces away. “Are you- are you okay?”

Only the cicadas answered her. Swallowing, Eloise crept closer. "Hello?” Carefully, she knelt by the body - a girl or young woman, slender and pale-skinned, and as she got closer she could now see her face - pale and with a fine nose, dark brown hair falling over her eyes and a thick smattering of freckles,down to what little her shirt bared of her shoulders. She reached out to carefully squeeze her arm, and recoiled almost as soon as her fingers closed in. Cold.

Oh god, oh god. She’s dead, isn’t she? She’s dead. I just found a dead body. A dead body of a dead person. Dead.

Panic mounting in tune with the bile in her throat, Eloise stared at her discovery, and then looked around wildly, as if expecting to find answers, or the killer, or both. What she found instead were a pair of hands, severed and strewn in the grass, quite apart from the body. With a shaky intake of breath, Eloise clapped a hand over her mouth, and looked back at the dead woman. She hadn’t spotted it at first, but her arms ended in bloodied stumps at her wrists.

Heart hammering and nausea pounding at her insides, Eloise took an unsteady step back.

Help. She had to go get help.
