Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it

my no stakes hollanov headcanon of the day is that hollanov accidentally acquire a cat. it's a black boy cat with white whiskers and yellow eyes and he's one long noodle and he loves shane. and when faced with naming him, shane panicks and calls him puck. which leads to people being like, haha of course you'd name your pet after a hockey thing. and shane’s like, no actually, it's for shakespeare, and everyone will be like, oh. OH. meanwhile ilya is standing in the corner shaking his head completely baffled that people actually believe this outrageous and so very obvious lie because shane got so flustered and embarrassed about naming his cat puck (for hockey) that he relentlessly googled puck (characters in media).
