3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

As a Viking, it would be rare not to have any scars, and Nel is no exception. Most of them are small, tiny little things dotting her arms and legs, barely noticeable. The most prominent would be the one she keeps hidden - at the small of her back is an adult hand sized burn scar. Although it may not look like much, this scar carries meaning.

It was received when Nel underwent dragon training, and was unfortunate enough to be paired up with a rather loud-mouthed, reckless, pig-headed idiot. Sounds like most Viking lads, right? Well, this one fancied himself the greatest dragon slayer of all time, just waiting to be discovered, as most do. However, although he had 'courage' (some would call it stupidity), he possessed little intelligence. Whilst taking the time to boast of his skill in the arena, he left himself completely open to attack. Nel, acting upon instinct, moved to shove him out of the way, and had her back grazed in the process. The fire blast, although barely touching her, knocked her down and left a nasty scar for the rest of her life.

2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?

Nel's most prominent physical feature would undoubtedly be her hair. The length and Viking braid is common, however the colour of unusual and considered rare, rarer than red hair among Berkians and other Viking clans. A pale blonde, so pale it is often confused to be white, Nel inherited it from her great-grandmother. The village Elder who birthed her recalled an old story that said those born with hair so pale is was almost white were old souls reborn and that even as children, they would grow to be wise.

Besides her pale hair, Nel has her father's blue eyes and the slim, lithe build often associated with the younger female Vikings, although hers is considered a little more 'pear' shaped with wider hips and a smaller bust.

1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

Nel has a good relationship with her mother, despite the miscommunication between them. Nel was raised from the age of nine by a single mother, after her father did not return from a venture against the Dragon's Nest. Nel has never held it against the ways of the Vikings or the chief about what happened to her father - warriors who did not come back was common place and he was honoured with a warrior's death, defending the life of his comrades by facing a Deadly Nadder and falling against it's poison. However, she has yet to find it in her heart to truly forgive the dragons because of it.

Nel and her mother have an interesting relationship. One would think, seeing the two of them interact, that they would hate to spend time in each other's company. Nella's mother is cheerful, bubbly and, in the nicest way possible, not all that bright. However, she is loyal and hardworking, a solid member of the community who will happily pull her weight and understands the efforts of hard work. Her daughter often finds her to be overwhelming, and just wishes she would sit down and stop talking for five minutes a day, but alas. Nella's mother's favourite topic of conversation with her daughter always seems to come back to marriage, a topic that exhaust and exasperates Nel to no end.

Despite this, her mother has always been a supportive figure in her life, accepting her daughter's decision to become a healer and live away from Berk for the years her training would require, and giving up the strong possibility of marriage in aid of pledging her life to healing. However, that still doesn't stop her from trying to encourage her daughter to not 'waste her youth and beauty' in trying to get her a man. Nella, now she has returned, is thankful to have been given her own home.

((Above most everything. It’s probably the one thing that’s managed to keep him afloat in his line of work. He would never rat on any of his bosses and he would prefer going to jail over one of his employees getting locked up [that includes the girls in the back].))

♠ - What are they afraid of?

((Rejection. It’s almost sad, but he could probably handle being arrested over being rejected by someone he cares for.))

✕ - How do they handle rejection?

((Alvin’s a master at pretending it doesn’t bother him. He’ll smile and try and make a joke, then try and bury it way down inside and pretend it never happened. He copes by not coping at all))

★ - Do they prefer daytime or nighttime and why?

((Alvin loves daytime, but with his business, he has to keep strange hours. Usually he’s up from 8 in the morning until 1, then he sleeps till about 7pm and he’s up most of the night just to make sure he can handle anything that goes in with the brothel.

But if it was up to him, he’d be in bed by 9 or 10 at night, then up at 6 in the morning to watch the sun rise. It makes him feel alive and far away from the dark underbelly he let himself be dragged into.))

((Sweet. He had a sour lemon once and he thought he was gonna throw up.))
