Tabitha Selwyn was stressed.
When she was stressed, she got angry. When she got angry, the cupcakes didn't frost right. When the cupcakes didn't frost right, Tabitha Selwyn stressed.
There was no one to man the front counter (the elves were too short and not generally received well by the customers), thus she had to constantly run between the kitchen and the cases of pastries. It seemed like dozens of people poured in every minute (realistically it was probably a dozen half hour). Her wand arm shook as she tried once more to frost the stupid cupcake. It was simple, a little swirl of frosting with a rose on top. Hundreds of the same had gone out the door before.
Peakes' offer had never sounded more brilliant. Someone around the shop would be exactly what she needed. If not someone to help her bake, then to man the counter. It had progressed to the point of no return, she could not keep working by herself. With a sigh she trudged up to her apartment and sat down to write a letter. Hi, Danielle. Peakes Sawyer told me you were looking for a job. I could use the help. Preferably as soon as possible. I have a floo in the basement of the bakery. It's Sweet Spell Bakery in Diagon Alley. Thanks so much, Tabitha Selwyn. Simple, and to the point. She sent it out with her owl and took the two flights of stairs to the basement to wait. Tabby had only spoken to Danielle a few times, she had seemed nice enough. She only hoped that ASAP meant the same thing to Danielle as it did to her.
