Humming softly, Lilith held her daughter Morgan in her arms. All wrapped up in a fuzzy purple blanket. Back and forth, she rocked the baby back to sleep. She's refused to rest herself, not wanting to miss a moment of baby's first day alive in Hell. She was such an adorable little thing. Just watching her little arms reach out to her made Lilith melt.
Lilith gave a soft hum, admiring her favorite Sinner. Always so eager to please a woman in his presence. Behavior that was welcomed to the Queen of Hell. Doing otherwise would be less than beneficial to his livelihood.
"A bit of both, if I'm honest dear. I miss having a competent demon at my disposal. I know that if I give you a task, you won't bitch and complain. Now then, I require a plus one in a few days. Normally Sinners aren't allowed to travel anywhere beyond the Pride Ring but since you have a contract with me..we can go through loop holes."
She places a hand on his shoulder.
"What are your thoughts on attending a cannibal ritual?"
Upon the shaking, Lucifer stirs a bit. He's never been a particularly heavy sleeper, and sitting in a chair doesn't tend to lend itself to very heavy sleeping anyway
He blinks a bit, consciousness hitting gradually and then all at once as he startles slightly. Though, he smiles automatically at seeing his wife
As he stirs awake, Lilith smiles a little. A hand rests on his arm.
"Hey there, sleepy head. I hate to bother you, but could you maybe get a nurse for me, please? I'm ready to go home, and you could use some decent sleep.."
Angela could be found within a crystal hall, writing a few notes here and there as she stepped away from the orb that allowed her to glance at the battles that were still going on. Time was moving steadily along but the players were racing against a clock that was at least a day or two ahead of them. Their resting time would be minimal, unlike the rest who finished their battles in record timing.
She kept an ear out for any uttered prayers, yet the majority of her thoughts were locked into her journal. It was a minor investment, in the greater scheme of things but within every cycle she was tasked to stand beside God, she took notes. It seemed that today her hand stalled in it's usual craft. No new notes. Just a blank expression upon her face as she stared at her pages.
"Angela..?" A soft tap to her shoulder shook her to the present as she looked up to see her brother, Ash. He had a concerned look about him. "Does something trouble you, Angela?"
She turns her head back to the journal in her hand only to slowly close the book, dismissing it from her grasp in a soft beam of light.
"It isn't important." she uttered softly.
Standing to her feet, she noticed Ash bow his head with his right arm over his chest.
"Would you care for a dance? You appear to be in need of a distraction."
Angela sighed, giving him a nod, "Very well.." She held out her right hand to him, lacking any usual enthusiasm she normally would have when it came to dancing and allowed Ash to wrap her arm around his own whilst he escorted her to a wider area for them to dance. Once they were in an open space, he turned to face her so they were in a proper position. Left hand on her hip, right hand laced within her left as she settled her left hand on his shoulder.

As per usual, Ash guided them across the glass floor, paying special attention to where Angela's eyes wandered. She avoided looking at him, which only gave him the indication that she was troubled.
"The longer you keep whatever is on your mind to yourself, the worse you will be off. Care to share what has you in a bitter mood?"
Angela huffed,"I..would rather not. It is a selfish reason and I know it."
"That does not make it any less troubling towards you, Angela."
She sighed, slowly looking back to Ash,"Should this cycle do well, I will be given a final task, as I will not be joining the others. The harbingers do not see me as their own, which is fine. However, the task I was given..it feels impossible. I..fear what will be come of me if I even dare to try."
This news piqued his curiosity. He did not appear beside Angela when she went to see God. He was a servant as well, but he felt that the interaction with their Creator would do well for her icy heart. Perhaps this was a doing of his own, why she held fears of the past too close to her sleeves.
"Dearest sister, I am sure you can accomplish whatever task he has for you."
Angela stopped dead on the floor, glance frozen to the floor, "He wishes for me to carry on, to have a life beyond him with another. I..cannot. I have grown accustom to his praise, the gentle gestures..the rare privilege of being at his side. To be depended on while this cycle sits upon a balanced scale. Being with our Creator has awoken emotions I thought were long since gone. Dead beyond reckoning. How can I?"
Her shoulders started to shake as she gripped his shoulder ever so tightly, "..how can I make a life with another when I don't feel alive? Much like Drossel, we are puppets, recreated to nothing more than serve. How can a puppet live without their strings? Surely we are bound to collapse and fall into damnation."
A shaky breath leaves her lips, "We have no place here, I have no place here. It is a task I am doomed to fail. He may not be in this cycle but the demons here..they worry me. None seem to care for an audience with an angel. Many of the angels here make me question if we were created from the same light. It is hopeless..and I will miss his company dearly."
"Ah..is that what this is all about, hm? You worry for your future without our Creator for the emotions that have awoken within you, yes? I admit I have started to notice a slight change in myself as well, but not to the same level as you. Have you spoken to him about these emotions? About your concerns?"
Angela shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks for the first time in eons. She reached a hand up, brushing the moisture away from her eyes.
"It does not matter. If it is a task I must complete, there is no negotiating. So I will force myself to wander into the mine field and test the ground should this cycle survive."
Angela trembled in his arms, familial instincts kicked in for Ash as he pulled Angela into a tight embrace. She had such a heavy heart and he wasn't even sure there was much he could do to aid her, let alone put her mind at ease.
As he held her, a soft cloth was tugged out of his front breast pocket as he dried her tears, "Now now, there is no need to sob. I will see what I can do. Don't despair just yet. There are many variables that have yet to be accounted for..but take comfort that you will not see the end once all is said and done. God must have a reason for giving you such a task. He would not give you a test he did not believe you could not complete. Breathe and pray that all will be right in time."
Angela gave a nod, comforted by his words. Taking a step back, she gave him a polite curtsy.
"Thank you, brother, for taking the time to speak with me. I believe I shall excuse myself to pray and rest."
A hand over his heart, he gave her a low bow," Of course. Do what you must to clear your mind. You know where I am should you need me."
Nodding in agreement, Angela leaves her brother and goes to her usual spot to pray. She needed to sort out her thoughts and emotions on her own.
Ash watched as his sister left the floor, thinking to himself. It would seem that he would have a task of his own for later...
"It just ain't right, when a thinking thing eats it's own kind!"
"Well darlin', you are speaking to a cannibal. It's been a way of live for myself and the whole Colony I live in within Hell all my life. If you can't accept that, then that's a you problem.~"

"Yes," he said, mustering as much charisma as he could.
Though he typically preferred to delegate jobs like this to his staff, they'd all refused to set foot in this part of town. Although he could have forced it from them, he decided against that in this case. If it resulted in blunder that lost them customers, he'd be the one screwed over.
And so the task of diplomacy fell to him.
"I'm told anyone who wishes to conduct business on your turf is required to go through you. So naturally, I'm here for all the usual formalities." He waved his hand to indicate etc etc.
"Ahh, well then, if that's the case, I'm all ears. You certainly heard right. Being as I'm the one in charge of basically everything here in the Cannibal District, all businesses need permission from me to do any trading. So, what sort of business do you offer my people, hmn?"
