A mansion in Pampanga, Philippines

Scene 10

Dinner time with the family. GRANDMA sits in the right corner of the table while LHOU sits in front of his GRANDMA.FOOTSTEPS are heard. GIZETTE appears in the right-wing and saw his ETHAN seating in the host chair.

GIZZETE

Why are you here? (Looking to Ethan)

ETHAN (Smiles to Gizzete)

(TURN THE SPOTLIGHT FOCUSES TO LHOU)

ETHAN

(Goes under the table and exit to the right wing)

LHOU

(Looks at the host chair and looks again to Gizzete)

What are you talking about? Are you ill? Ethan was reported dead yesterday, don’t you know?

(SPOTLIGHT focuses on GIZZETE)(Starts to walk to Downstage)

ETHAN

(Exit to the left-wing)

GIZZETE

(Turn on the red light)

(BACKGROUND MUSIC TRACK#9 ON)

Why are you here? (Wondering around like crazy),(Aggressively grabs the knife and pointed the knife in front of the host chair) No! Why are you here? Answer me! (Screaming)

LHOU & MAIDS

(Looking to GIZZETE and to each other questioning what is happening using eye contact)

(SPOTLIGHT OFF)

(BACKGROUND MUSIC TRACK#9 OFF)

GRANDMA

I think GIZZETE is not feeling well so let me excuse us so GIZETTE can take a rest.

GIZZETE

(Insist)

You! (Pointed the knife towards Lhou) I know that Lhou he’s plotting against me.

LHOU

(Stands)

The company can’t have a crazy CEO! (While walking away going to left-wing)

MAIDS

(EXITS to the left-wing)

GRANDMA

(Stands and walks toward Gizzete)

Stop it Lhou! (Took the knife of Gizzete’s holding) Let’s go Gizzete. You are just tired. (GRANDMA escorted GIZZETE to go back to her room and take more rest)

(SPOTLIGHT ON)

(Starts to set up in the stage right the bedroom scene with table, chair, pencil holder, pillow, and blanket) table, chair, pencil holder, pillow and blanket)

GRANDMA and GIZZETE

(Starts to walk going to stage right)

GIZZETE

I can’t handle it anymore. Every night I always saw Father and Ethan in my dream. What should I do, Grandma?

GRANDMA

Just be aware of Lhou but in the meantime, you just need to rest.

GIZZETE

(GRANDMA leave and GIZZETE close her eyes)

FATHER

(Offstage)

I hope you’re happy now. Why Gizzete? Why? Are you happy now? (Scary voice)

ETHAN

(Offstage)

Hi, Sister. I’m here always. Don’t forget me. (Laugh like insane)

GIZZETE

AAAAAHHHH! (Wakes up while screaming)STOP! I’m… sorry… I… didn’t… mean it!!! (Crying and steal hearing the voice of her FATHER and ETHAN)

(Repeatedly hearing the voice of her FATHER and ETHAN)(Finding where the voice coming from) Don’t come near me! (Shout)(Looking everywhere like crazy) Don’t come near me!! (Laugh like insane)

GIZZETE

(Grab the scissors in the pencil holder)(Pointing it anywhere) I’m sorry Father. I’m sorry Ethan. It’s my fault. (Crying) Yeah, it’s my fault. What? It is really my fault? (Laugh) I can’t handle it anymore. (Stays quiet for a while) (Point the scissors to her chest and starts to stab her heart)

BLACKOUT.

The Journey of a writer

Whenever I hear the word “Writing” the first thing that comes to my mind is taking down or sharing your ideas and thought through a paper, and also with other people. Writing makes our imagination works and grows more. As all, we know that a lot of us have skills in writing.

So, for this assigned essay, I’m going to share my journey about writing. For me, writing helps us to share our ideas and opinions by doing it. Whenever you’re happy, sad, excited, scared, and excited, you can use that feeling to create your work in writing. Bear with me and I’m going to share my experiences and journey in writing.

I can’t clearly remember how I started writing. But I remember that at the age of 5 years old my Aunt Josie which is my father’s sibling was writing her song for her friend who was abroad. I joined her in making the song for her friend I remember some of the lines on that song. ‘You’re the one who helps me to change for the better of me’, we create that song and send it to her friend. As days go by, we received a letter from her friend saying that she appreciated the song that we wrote for her. My aunt and I were so happy because all the efforts we’ve done for that song are all worth it.

At the age of 7, my teacher assigned an activity to us in which we have to create a letter for our parents for Thanksgiving Day, I wrote it with feelings and all the things I want to tell my parent. I just really hope that they liked the letter I wrote for them, even though I know that my writing skills during those days are terrible. When the day that I gave my letter to them as what I can see on their faces was happiness. I hope that they liked it because it was the first letter that I wrote.

At the age of 10, I started to write some short songs about how I feel. One of the short songs that I wrote was for my father that worked hard for us, I wrote a song about the sacrifices that the fathers are doing for their Family. Maybe the reason why I wrote those songs is that I really appreciate how do my father sacrifices everything just for us to have a beautiful life. He’s been working abroad for almost 10 years already and that’s also one of the reasons why I really want to make my parents proud of me.

As I grew older, I learned how to write poems, it started when the first time that I fell in love with my classmate, Troy. I secretly sending the poems that I wrote for him but sadly, he never knew that I was the one who’s sending them to him.

The poem is my most favorite thing to write because for me writing poems helps you to express your feelings to other people. Not just for the one you have a crush on, but also for the people that are special to you. Up until now, I was still writing poems based on how I feel. Just like what I’ve said, you can write whenever you’re happy, whenever you’re sad, and the times when you’re in love. For me, writing will be a big help for us to express and share our thoughts and feelings with other people.

Writing can also help us to write down all of the things that bother you. You can also use writing whenever you can’t say something verbally. A lot of people are using writing to enhance and to grow as someone they likely to be. Before most of us are using writing like writing a letter to someone we like to communicate with.
