This month I’ve been reading the final book in the brilliant A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy from VE Schwab. I’ve also been reading the Philosophers’s Stone chapters then listening to their corresponding HP and the Sacred Text podcasts. Rounding up the month with some late night reading sessions with the unput-downable fourth instalment of the Erika Foster thrillers from Robert Bryndza

Caught up with the podcasts on Harry Potter and the Sacred Text just in time to listen to the discussions on the final chapter of the Philosopher’s Stone.

I have to say that on my previous rereads i have always just blasted through the first couple of books to get to the meatier sequels. Now, however, thanks to ideas and insights into even the small actions and minor characters i am taking my time and savouring the text. I’m seeing the book in a whole new way.

The podcasts are free and they last about 25 minutes each. They include competitive 30 second recaps from the two presenters, Casper and Vanessa (you can vote on the best), a discussion on the theme of the week as it applies to the chapter and a closer look at part of the text using an in depth reading technique.
