Morton knew he shouldn't be one to judge others on appearances but he couldn't help but hestitate knocking on this door somewhat. One of his hands still hangs in the air, claws still curled up in a knocking gesture while a second pair of arms below twist and turn at a well-worn rubik's cube in their hands, muttering rare and unusual words under his breath. "K-Kakorrhaphiophobia. Impignorate. Syzygy... ehhh. Intrepidity." It wasn't really the fault of the occupant within. They couldn't help the fact they looked like a spider beneath their coverings and, from what Morton had seen of them outside their apartment, put an awful lot of his instincts on edge. All except the urge to check in whether they had junk to trade, and he had good stuff to make it more prudent to spare him lest the occupant was hungry for more than just the cans of food he'd gathered from his wanderings... "E-excuse me?" Morton's rambling thoughts were soon broken as the door creaked open, revealing the face of his fears. His secondary hands clutched the cube as though it would somehow protect him lest the other attacked but the thing that shook Morton out of his state was the fact that... well. "Y-you’ve been waiting there a-awhile… Do you need anything…?" They sounded more nervous than him. Which was... oddly amusing considering they seemed a lot bigger up front like this. "Ehhh... Morton. I'm Morton. People say that's my name. Ehhh... I'm looking for little bits and knick-knacks. Stuff people like to throw away. Do you like to trade? I too... ehhh, have good stuff." He'd snapped out of his nervous thoughts somewhat, mollified by the other's hesitant tone. Certainly not aggressive or jabbering nonsense like so many others who'd looked outside, and so Morton rifled through his bags, pulling out an array of snacks, medical supplies, anything that looked appealing enough for whatever junk this one might have. @shutterbug256 @pangothepangolin
