Gul'dan and Auriel bringing darkness and light to Heroes of the Storm
Blizzard has a new World of Warcraft expansion set to release this summer, so the publisher isn’t about to pass up a synergy opportunity. With Gul’dan among the characters taking center stage in World of Warcraft: Legion, the evil warlock will also bring his dark magic to the Nexus in Heroes of the Storm, the developer announced Friday.
No word on what type of character Gul’dan will be just yet, but judging by his use of Fel magic in the video released by Blizzard, we expect he’ll either fall into the Warrior or Specialist archetype. In addition to his standard look, Gul’dan will also have Master and Balespider skins available.
As an angelic counter to Gul’dan’s demonic presence, Diablo archangel Auriel will also join the fight. Being the Archangel of Hope, one would expect Auriel to act as a support character. However, she shows off a handful of ranged attacks that seem to show her as more of an assassin. Like Gul’dan, she will also have a pair of additional skins: Master and Demonic.
Gul’dan and Auriel are coming soon to Heroes of the Storm, along with a handful of new skins and mounts, including a Striker skin for Li Ming and a fiery Elemental Lizard.
