Just a thought in the back of my mind all today… perhaps someone else has thought of this before as well…

Do you think there were meant to be more brothers after Alan? The Mercury Seven astronauts that are the Tracy brothers’ namesake are just that. Seven. We have Alan Shepard, Gordon Cooper, Gus (Virgil) Grissom, John Glenn, and Scott Carpenter. What about Deke Slayton and Wally Schirra??

Even with the debate on ages and age order, the five brothers have an age gap of ranging 2-5 years between each other. Most accounts hold Lucy dying somewhere between Alan’s birth and at a little kid, maybe around four years old. Could there have been a sixth and seventh little Tracy boy if the avalanche (or tragedy of your choice) never happened?

A good week. Two of my house were released from the Halls. Even better, one has found their family already and has been welcomed back with open arms. It is always so good to see this happen; I cannot help but remember the suspicion that followed us in Gondolin. 

Former thralls cannot be trusted, they would say. Did they fight their way out, or were they let go? Do they even now carry treason in their hearts? 

The brave at least said it to our faces. 

Perhaps things are different here in Valinor. Or perhaps they are just more subtle. I cannot be certain yet.

It is perpetually fascinating to me to consider what the Valar did and did not include when they re-embodied us.

I, for example, am missing some fairly interesting scars that I would rather have kept as a reminder, but somehow still have a knee that goes out if I twist it slightly the wrong way.

One of these seems perhaps more important to change than the other, and yet here we stand. Or, you know, carefully brace ourselves so we aren't putting too much weight on that side.
