A Commonality || Balthazar & Lucretia
Lurking around the manor seemed to be all Lucretia was good for. Her heart still ached for the freedom of the streets of Wisteria, where she no longer had to look over her shoulder at every moment for her sneering father or a man she had been forced to have seduce. And there were no shortage of those. The halls of the Gold Manor echoed with her footsteps. Her prison. A beautiful little cage, these walls were, and she wanted out. Maybe Puck was due for a visit. But the thought of Puck only brought to light the thoughts of Robyn. So she was to marry him like a little obedient dove. It was quite amusing, how Lord Gold had told her to be promiscuous for his sake, and now to be sworn to one man she had not a single bit of love for.
The silence was broken by the sound of a man’s long sigh. A visitor in her prison. How delightful. Perhaps it would be fun to scare the man away. Surely he was a business partner of her father’s. Some crooked faerie with a manor half the size of the palace, probably with enough human servants to run a small army, with a grin that could slice open a thousand innocent faces. But instead Lucretia found an older faerie with a furrowed brow, sitting in one of the chairs outside the hall to Lord Gold’s study. Even passing by this hallway, with its familiar sights and sounds and scents made Lucretia’s stomach lurch.
“If you’re here to see my father, he's having tea with an old friend,” she said. How strange, she was being helpful today. “He’ll be arriving back late to see you, just to prove that he’s important enough to do so, knowing you’ll wait for him.”
