“Turkesa come on! Get the sketchbook away from your attention already!”
The monkey being called blinked as he stared at the piece of paper on his lap with the chopped up wood and lead in his hand. Looking at the source, Turkesa smiled brightly at a fire-y red and yellow monkey that stood in front of him with an impatient expression.
“Woah, Kahel, lower your voice, and try again. That wasn’t exactly correct.” He both informed and teased, not really meaning anything truly mean in his tone.
“Get your sketchbook off of your attention!”
“Deep breath, come on buddy, try one more time.” Turk suggested. The warmer colored monkey closed his eyes and paused at the request, taking a deep breath as he restructured his sentence in his head, before looking away, then at the cooler colored simian.
“Get your attention, away from the sketchbook and look at this.”
Turkesa smiled softly, closing his book and putting it aside before jumping off the small seat he had been sitting on. Landing quietly on the grass before looking at his older brother and grinning.
“There you go, remember you have to take a moment and think about what you want say before saying it! Now where’s this thing you want to show me?”
“It’s this way, I-I think there’s something there!” The older monkey informed before running off, Turkesa grinning almost excitedly before running after the other monkey. Very quickly he passed his sibling as they both ran and passed by a small open field near a house. Turkesa looking into the windows and seeing the silhouettes of three other monkeys; he grinned bigger at the familiar sight, before continuing to run with his older brother, the duo coming to a stop in front of a few tightly packed trees.
“Here?” Turkesa asked approaching the trees that blocked the view. Kahel took a minute to catch his breath before walking over to his younger sibling, a worried and cautious expression on his face.
“Yeah, my eyes stumbled upon it while I was walking… I think there’s something else there… Maybe we should leave it, Mom and Dad said not to go beyond the forest…” Kahel reminds, glancing behind him at the house not that far off. Turkesa glanced behind him at the other monkey, before chuckling with a big childish grin.
“Oh come on Kahel, we might as well look since you pointed it out, just a quick peek nothing else. Also, ‘it’s I stumbled upon it while walking’, or ‘I happened to see it while I was walking around’. You were definitely close though.”
“Turkesa! No stop! We’re going to get in trouble!” Kahel called as he had noticed his younger sibling climbing the trees just enough to squeeze in between. The teal monkey froze where he was, and looked down at Kahel with an almost innocent smile.
“Only just a peek I promise, we won’t go any further out.”
