Maybe it's cause I'm old but from 2008 to 2017 the phone technology changed a lot and we had to write and save the contact information ourselves most of the time, it wasn't as easy as it is now. Even more going from blackberry to smartphones.

It's just really funny to me that they both sat down every single time and wrote down 'Jane/Lily' themselves. Their relationship is so... on purpose. You know what I mean? 10 years does that. Is inevitable. You gotta choose it.
