What was truly bothersome was the invitation to sit. Yes, that was what made him do that absurd smiling thing again. It wasn't a smirk, it wasn't bitter, it was just a smile. He found himself amused by it. Sit if you'd like, as if this were a house. As if there was a sofa, as if this were his home.
"I was inclined to think magic potions were more instant. I wouldn't know, I have not tried one. Then again, if your face is any indication then I don't believe I would like to." No, that face had been one of displeasure... that was certain.
ShadowShroudedGuardian:
"They can be. This one is a more all-purpose one. And it isn't too bad, just bitter." Sheik said, a yawn tacking itself onto the end of his sentence. The potion was having something of a relaxing effect, no quite a sedative, but still a calm persuasion to sleep. "It might be a tad difficult to wake me up if the need arises." However he sincerly hoped that such a need would not.
ThisRedThread:
To Ghirahim that meant very little. He didn't suspect the need would arise. The fact that Sheik was sleeping was beneficial to his health. The whole talk seemed unnecessary. For whatever reason, unnecessary conversation had snuck into his life a lot lately. He was sure that small talk was becoming a pastime.
"Sleep well." he murmured, and decided then and there that he did nto want to sit, and that he would keep a fair watch. He didn't want to have to wake him, after all... That would be to admit he couldn't protect one silly sheikah on his own.
ShadowShroudedGuardian:
It was something of a hazy sleep, not quite dreams, but not quite the black void of unconsciousness. He felt pleasantly warm, a feeling that brought a certain safety, reminiscent of the place he called home, but nothing more than a fog of blended shapes that seemed to dissipate and reform as soon as any attempt to register them was made. In reality many hours had already passed by, but time stood still for the blonde. Slowly though and then all too suddenly the air in his dream world began to grow heavy and the once warm breeze died down, leaving only a draft in its place. The shift to malcontent even managed to surface outside his mind as his body tossed to curl further into his cloak and his brows knitted in an unidentified frustration.
I had time to kill so I made a thing.
It had been quite a while since the blonde had stepped into the shower and Kafei was beginning to worry. Cautiously he cracked open the door. "You ok in there?" A sniffle was clearly trying to be hidden before the other tried to speak, but he ignored it. "Y-yeah." He wasn't sure how much space he should be giving the other. He had a good idea of what had happened, but he was not quite sure exactly how he should be reacting. "Mind if I come in? I won't look. Just want to talk to you." For a moment there was silence, but eventually a quite confirmation was voiced and Kafei took a seat on the floor facing the door. "It's ok. You don't need to worry about me. I just need time. I'll be ok." Sheik said softly, his voice timid and child like, cutting off what Kafei had been about to ask. A smile drew over his lips. He should have known better. Sheik was strong, stronger than most, and even if the man was horribly wounded, Kafei chided himself for thinking even for a second that Sheik could be broken. "I know you will be. Just know that you don't need to isolate yourself, alright? I'm here if you need me and you're no weaker for asking. Stronger if anything. It is the coward that does not ask for help for fear of looking weak." The water stopped and the curtain shinked on its track. The ruffle of a towel could be heard as the blonde dried his hair. Kafei got to his feet and turned to look at his brother. He was disheveled and tired, but there was still fight in his eyes. "Come on, let's get you dressed."
Sheik nodded and threw an arm over the other's shoulder. While he had forced himself to move in Pipit's presence, he was willing now to take the unvoiced offer to aid him back to his room. "Can you stay here for a while?" He felt pathetic for asking, but he simply didn't want to be left alone. He was fairly certain Ghirahim wasn't coming after him, not just yet anyway, but still he knew he couldn't defend himself in this state, and it left him with a sliver of fear. "Mhm, whatever you need." Slowly he took a seat on the bed. The shuffle of drawers filled the silence, and it wasn't long before a small pile of house clothes where passed to him. Sheik dressed quickly and resumed lying curled up on the bed, where three keatons had now made themselves cozy. Covers drew up over him and a hand brushed back his hair, combing threw it a few times more before coming to rest at his shoulder. "It's exactly what it looks like, isn't it?" Sheik was glad for the delicate phrasing and nodded, before uttering a simple, "Yeah." He couldn't blame the other for asking, he knew he would, but only out of concern. "Caught me off guard....no, that's...it's not entirely true." A lump was forming in his throat and his stomach was twisting into a tighter knot with every word spoken. He couldn't tell him everything, not at the moment, but he had to tell someone some things, he couldn't let those particular thoughts fester."I could have killed him. There was a moment, not a long one, but there was time for me to kill him, but I didn't and I'm not sure why." The hand at his shoulder moved to rub his back. "You're not a heartless killer, Sheik. I'm sure you had your reasons, but don't beat yourself up about that right now." It was good advice, but even so, he could help but think about it; he couldn't help but think about a lot of things. "I didn't want to. I didn't want to kill him. I tried to fend him off instead. Why couldn't I have just....I could have at least wounded him...or maybe... that might have only made things worse. " A kiss fell to his temple before the other got to his feet. "I'm going to make you some tea. Some strong tea. The kind of tea that'll knock you out." Sheik raised an eyebrow and rolled over to catch a glimpse of the other leaving the room. "Kafei I swear if you spike my tea..." A laugh echoed down the hallway. "Spike your tea? Never. But on an unrelated note, where do you keep the whis-- Never mind, found it." Sheik shook his head, a smile drawn over his face at his brother's antics. Knowing the other, Kafei was probably just playing it for laughs and had no intention of actually putting it in his drink. He was good for that, he always had been able to make people crack a smile even in their darkest hour, Sheik especially.
