It’s happened again
Someone prolific and famous has died and yet, I’m still hearing him. Odder yet, I still see him on occasion. And this has been the background of my life, of all of my generation‘s lives. The dead haunt us far more than any age before. I can turn on the television and see ghosts. I hear their voices as I drive to work and while at work.
Sure music and books and more remain from by gone eras but they’re still and unmoving. Never before has so much been preserved and kept with us, for better and worse, than in the past century or so.
And they complain that we’re a generation of nostalgia, forever looking back. How could we be anything else, the past was there from the moment we were birthed, animated for us to wonder at, ever growing as we were.
Anyhow, I can’t believe the patriarch of metal went out with a whimper like this. It’ll never be the same now that we don’t have that lodestone.
Yeahh! I know, you can't hear me cause I sing to a different age and yes you really should fear me cause I believe in a different age.
Current Joys - A Different Age
and i wish i could change, but i’ll probably just stay the same
Like a life without love, God that’s just insane
But a love without life…Well, that just happens everyday
