Let's just pretend it hasn't been well over a year since I last posted a chapter....

Anyways, A shipment of new villains come to the Isle, and Hades and Maleficent make a grave discovery.

I'm personally not big into Halloween, but I started thinking of my AU, A Different Tale, and Hades and:

Hades dressed Mal up in a purple dragon costume when she was two. While he, of course, never celebrated the holiday, Hadie had started to thanks to Auradon's influence. Wanting to match his sister, Hadie dressed up as a blue dragon. For the entire day, Hadie and Mal ran around the castle with Hadie holding Mal up so she could "fly" and roar at the adults, who for her sake pretended to act scared.

Mal REFUSED to take off the costume for an entire week. Eventually Persephone had to call in a favor from her mother so they could get Mal some purple dragon pajamas to bribe the girl to change.

Audrey has officially become a bigger part of A Different Tale. I was not expecting this, but I'm not mad about it

ADT will Mal know that her parents plan on sending her to the Underworld If she doesn't get off the isle by 16, does/will Hadie know?

I know Maui is a demigod is it that you will make him related to the Olympians, or are their different kinds of Gods with the Olympians being the highest?.

You know, I'm kind of flip flopping on that. Like, they tell her some of what's going on, but I don't know if they're going to tell her that part because they don't want her to worry or to lose herself to anger. Hadie, however, does know. Partially because Hades and Persephone are including him in a backup plan to hide Mal once she is that age, as while she can live in the Underworld it still wouldn't be good to force her to be there for years on end. Being part fae, she does need to be around flourishing nature (plants, flowers, sunlight, etc) which the Underworld doesn't have an abundance of, despite Persephone's best efforts.

Not related! There is some kind of hierarchy, I'm still working it out. Currently, I'm decided that the Olympians are the highest, followed by the Norse gods (Who aren't really mentioned, but I think they appear in the Hercules series? which makes them canon). Then the Polynesian, and after that the Gaelic (since the Cailleach is canon to Brave). Elsa and the forest spirits are also somewhere in the lineup, below the Gaelic. Then genie's, and I'm not sure what else XD

Would you say Beast is the main Villan in ADT?

Maybe not the main, because there are multiple, but he's definitely a villain.

The thing about Beast in ADT, which also is hinted at in my other fics, is that despite what he went through, he's really not that empathetic, he's not forgiving, and he hates magic. You see it in how he's gone after Maleficent, Maui, Bruno, Anastasia Tremaine. He is sending anyone he can (there are some he can't touch) to the Isle of the Lost, if they are someone with a questionable past or who has even a hint of magic. He wants total control, he's manipulative, and he's actually borderline emotional abusive and neglectful towards Ben. So, yeah, in those way he's definitely one of the main villains.

And sadly, canon gave me this framework. Because animated, reformed Beast (of whom I love, along with Belle) would NEVER. Animated Belle would NEVER stand for any of this.

Thanks for sharing your headcanon for Mal and Hadie. I love getting to know more about different people and their au. You could have rambled for hours, and I'd still read it all. XD

Are you still working on a different tale, and do you have any headcanon for that, or are you finishing the Fate Gift series before you tackle a different tale?

You're welcome! And that's very sweet, I'll also keep that in mind XD

I sporadically work on ADT. It's definitely not abandoned! There is just a lot more worldbuilding that goes into it.

If you're talking about Mal and Hadie, their relationship is similar but different to Fate's Gift, as in this universe Hadie didn't take on a parental role. He's still very protective of her, given the whole Isle situation, but they bicker a little more and Hadie doesn't have the same feeling of responsibility like he does in Fate's Gift, nor does Mal feel like he's the only "adult" she can turn too.

Also, in ADT Hadie doesn't have to hide that he has a little sister and tells all his friends about Mal. He's actually pretty good friends with Mirabel and Camilo (same in Fate's Gift!!) and Mirabel in particular can't wait for the day she gets to meet Mal.

As for any other headcanons, you'd need to be very specific XD There are so many characters, events, and of course having 2014 Maleficent while also making things darker in general, things are quite a big different than in canon and Fate's Gift
