hello ^^ can i request 22 + 31 with wonwoo please? thank you!
22. “Are we lost?” + 31. “Don’t give me that look.” (WonwooxReader)
sleepover drabble
“That definitely looks like the campsite.” You announced, pointing a finger at yet another field full of sheep next to the winding road that Wonwoo was driving you down.
He grunted in response, well used to your sarcastic quips by now. There had been many on this journey, which was supposedly thirty minutes and yet this was three hours, and counting.
“It has to be around here somewhere.” A soft sigh escaped his lips as his eyes flicked to the clock on the dash, and then the rapidly setting sun on the horizon.
After a pause to contemplate this, you replied: “where exactly is ‘here’?”
Silence.
“Wonwoo?”
Silence.
“Are we lost?” Though you already knew the answer, you had to phrase the question anyways, hoping that by some grace your boyfriend knew where he had taken the two of you, given that there was no chance of a phone signal and the last car you saw was at least an hour back.
Wonwoo did not reply yet again but this time he gave a subtle nod, eyes glued to the road with the beginnings of a guilty look clouding his expression. Just as you were about to reassure him and suggest you turn around, a new light flashed up on the dash.
Low fuel.
A tiny inkling of fear wriggled in your stomach, thinking about the implications of this: stuck nowhere as the night loomed. No fuel. No help nearby. No phone signal. What if a murderer lived out here? It seemed an appropriately murder-y feeling place, with all the forests nearby and the whole ‘sheep for company’ thing. As you pondered this unfortunate position, the car suddenly veered off the road and onto a side track, rumbling up the mud path until you reached a dead end and the engine cut off.
Glancing curiously at Wonwoo, he suddenly met your eyes gave you his best ‘it’ll be okay’ sort of smile.
“Don’t give me that look,” he put in softly, examining your worried face with knitted eyebrows. “We’ll walk up to that emergency phone we passed a few minutes ago-“ (thank god he was paying attention. You had no idea.) “-and get help sent out in the morning; we can sleep in here tonight, right?”
-
A while later you returned to the car, and dusk had long fallen as you both slipped into the backseat, locking the doors and pushing the chairs back in a ‘lying’ position. Shivering from the cold of the walk, you conserved heat beneath a sleeping bag from your camping pack, nestling into Wonwoo’s warmth as his hand rested upon your head, softly stroking your hair.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured after a few moments of silence. “About getting us lost.”
“Mmmm,” you managed to mumble through the haze of sleep, bringing your hand to rest on his chest comfortingly. “It’s okay…”
Cradling one another in the darkness, your fears of murderers melted away as the night drew in, safe beside Wonwoo’s warmth. Maybe being lost wasn’t so bad, after all.
