If you were such a horrible person as anyone's acting like you are, you wouldn't feel that way. But yes, I'm afraid it goes beyond a simple lack of confidence on his part. He's making strides to improve himself and he's reached milestones through the support of others around him. I know you were only trying to help and no one has brought up the issue with you before now, but perhaps if you apologize, things would be all right.

I think no one's actually explaining to you what you did wrong and is instead going right for the kill, so I'll try. Luigi just isn't the sort of person that gets better by having his faults pointed out to him in such a way that you did, Starlow. For some people, yes, that's the sort of thing that would motivate them to improve, but for Luigi, who is an insecure person to begin with, it's only repeating the things he already thinks of himself. I know you meant well, but try to understand that.
