Aang sat cross-legged in the quiet glow of the spirit world, eyes narrowed at the towering form of Avatar Kyoshi. She looked as imposing as ever —calm, powerful, and absolutely unrepentant.

“You told me it was a good idea,” he said, voice low with the kind of betrayal normally reserved for wars and broken treaties. “You told me, Aang, wear the badger-mole pelt to show respect.” His hand clenched in his lap. “Do you have any idea how heavy those things are? I tripped down the temple steps. In front of everybody.”

The wind shifted sharply, stirring his robes, but @flxshy didn’t blink.

“And it smelled,” he added, leaning forward like the memory alone could knock him off balance again. “It smelled like it had been in a swamp since before the war.”
