i spent a whole day so scared for nothing THANK GOD 😭 this show was so rough around the edges and it’s a whole dairy farm with how cheesy it is but it’s SO fun and SUCH an incredible ride, i’m really sad to be done with it 🥲 also this thing is one of the mechs of all time just LOOK at her she’s gorgeous

IT WAS GUNBUSTER ALL ALONG………… no but fr what a great way to end it? like in the end they don’t kill god but they still dismantle the system that’d kept them under its heel AND chose to save a life while they were at it… cries cries

i rly love arrow being in a support role in general that is just such a fun choice!! like i feel like most super robo MCs are The One and i love it ofc but i like that this show flipped it on its head. arrow’s The One but only bc he’s kind and helps others rather than being destructive like he was made to be 🥺

i like to think that Beard Arrow’s hair spot was blue bc that’s the red hair equivalent of going grey LMAO

bro i’m just so fucking glad there was absolutely zero romance here 😭 elsha and atlee spent a half-second too long looking at arrow in ep22 and it freaked me out a LOT but it was nothing in the end so i’m happy :]

semi related i think undereye bags are one of my favorite things in all of anime, i know i’m not SUPPOSED to laugh but they’re always so exaggerated and funny to me 😭

hmmmmm i think that’s it for now. overall this show could’ve used a bit (lmao) more time in the oven and i get why it’s not more popular but i think it really could be if more ppl gave it a chance!! it’s a good time and kept me excited for the next ep and wondering what was gonna happen next, which almost never happens for me even if i enjoy a show. it’s very kind and it knows what it is and is proud of that to the fullest. i’m glad i got to experience it:)

[most predictable post ever incoming voice] i will say though. between bit’s thing being the strength he gives to people by relying on them. and shu SEEING that and drawing strength from it. and then arrow wanting so badly to die but not being able to simply because the people around him changed him so fundamentally that their own will to live is a part of him now too. ouuuuuuuuuuuugh

back arrow post-ep20 thoughts so i can laugh at myself in the future:

I’M OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW

i know i shit on its visuals but i do genuinely love the way the highlights in each person’s eyes are a different color

arrow has more emotional intelligence than all other super robot protags combined and they DO THIS WITH HIM. holy fucking jesus shit. if someone doesn’t give this dude a hug by the end of the series i WILL jump into my television and do it myself (aka: write fanfic) (i’ve already started it)

i’m genuinely torn on whether i think everyone who died is coming back lmao. i think it could work either way, what with their likenesses preserved outside the wall and with conviction particles making up both the world and its people… but also i know how ttgl ends and what mr. nakashima likes to do SO. idk i don’t like resurrections in general but i think it might be worth it if arrow doesn’t have to live with actually killing all those people!!!

cause like. WHEN SHU DIED?????? i thought for SURE he’d put his consciousness in a warper like finoir and he was just playing 7D chess to get rekka and granedger to work together BUT IDK. I GUESS HE STILL COULD BE. kinda tied to my last point but i’m gonna be devastated if he’s really gone and arrow has to live with it. like in a good way. but also in the most painful way imaginable

i’m genuinely having the most fun that i’ve had since watching diebuster back in may with this show!!!! i wish the character designs had gone through a few more iterations for the most part, like fine and prax and old zetsu look good and shu looks fine and i love the concepts but i just wish they were more balanced and made more sense. the 3d mechs actually look pretty decent for the most part (except when they’re textured with dirt), the action isn’t standout but it’s not distractingly stiff or anything, i think it flows well. i also wish that arrow had a better dub VA lmao, like the microphone quality i don’t mind overlooking cause covid but. c’mon lmao. but STILL I LOVE IT!!!
