It was almost unheard of for a woman to ask a man to dance. Vincent was sure that he saw his maiden aunt- who favored propriety and tradition- nearly faint at the sight of this young woman offering her hand to him. Vincent, on the other hand, thought her boldness was simply refreshing and flashed her his trademark smile before slipping his hand in hers, "that, you may, milady." And with those words, he sweeps her to the center of the ballroom where the crowd parts for the couple.
