Requested by @stoop-girl: Jun and Y/n are in rival groups and companies, and also love each other. They go to practice, not being themselves. When asked why, they go into a rant. Both groups make a plan and surprise Jun and Y/n with Secret Love Song and a dance. Then, the kiss at the end. _______________ Jun and Y/n were talking again for the nth time this month. Being from rival groups and companies, they really had to be careful when talking to each other. Luckily, they were able to exchange numbers so that they could talk throughout the day. Today started just like any other day. It was one of the highlights of Y/n’s day, speaking with Jun. At the moment, they were talking about different dances; those they found online and their groups’. Soon it became a talk of favourite foods. Then, they spoke about their predebut lives as well. Y/n wondered what she would be doing if she didn't become an idol, something she also shared with Jun. Maybe she'd be exploring more of the world, learning the cultures and the languages. But she was perfectly fine with what she had now. After all, she wouldn't have been able to meet Jun if she hadn't done so. But then the companies found out. Y/n didn't know what happened with Jun, but she was scolded and had to cut off connection. Her phone number had to changed as well. Y/n was so upset and frustrated that when she walked into the practice room, the tension was heavy. It was noticeable as she was one to show her emotions more. The other members of her group looked at each other. Then Ari came over and spoke to Y/n. No one knew why she was like this in the first place. Ari tried not to pry and focused on calming her. However it didn't go as planned. “Ari, why can't I just talk to him? I'm so tired of me and Jun always having to hide when we meet up or look around before texting each other in fear that we'd be caught. And today… How the companies found out is beyond me,” Y/n looked at the other two members, “That guy I've always texted and met up with was Jun, Seventeen's Jun. Now, it's like we're under watch so we can't see or speak to each other.” The next thing they knew, Y/n sobbed. This surprised everyone because no matter how sad or upset she was, she would never cry. “And you know what? He's the best of both worlds; he's quiet, but loud. He's calm, but wild. But because of what we are, there's nothing we can do about it.” __________________ Jun stormed off to practice from the office. He couldn't believe that he's not even allowed to talk to Y/n just because they were from rival groups and companies. What kind of stupid rule this was. He couldn't even say hello or anything. All he was to do was avoid her and her members. He entered the practice room and Seungcheol questioned. “Jun, what happened? You're late. Did s-” “Just leave me alone,” Jun spat, “It's not like you-” “Hey now,” Jeonghan intervened, “let's not lash out on each other, okay?” Jun stayed silent and looked to the ground with his arms crossed. A soft voice asked, “Hyung, what's wrong?” It was Chan. With barely an answer, he answered. “They found out about us.” “How? The both of you were so careful to hide it from them,” said Wonwoo. “I don't know, but it makes me frustrated. We did nothing wrong! We're just two people in love. What's so bad about that? Please tell me why. I know you guys were perfectly okay with our relationship, and I thank you for that. All I want now is to see her again. I don't even care what our companies think, because frankly it's a stupid rule. She's everything to me. She can speak every language in the world, she can paint every colour with just her touch, and those blue eyes hold every secret in the universe, but we can't be together because we're both two sparks that will cause a fire, destroying everything.” _________________ “Is your side ready?” “Yeah. Bring them in anytime.” “Be there in five.” Sara got off the phone and nodded to everyone else. “They'll be here in five.” “Wrap up! Remember, only Ari and Minghao are staying in here. Understood?” Seungcheol informed. A chorus of yes followed. So, all of them finished their parts and got out. Jisoo gave a thumbs up before leaving. It was just Ari and Minghao now. They went over the plan again and halfway through, Y/n and Jun were pushed through the door. “Countin’ on you guys!” Hansol called through the door. With a grin, Ati started, “Hey lovebirds. Our groups,” she motioned at herself and Minghao, “have been thinking. Screw the rules. If the companies say anything about it, we'll back you up. So, we prepared a little something for you.” Minghao stepped back and played a song on the laptop. It was Secret Love Song. Y/n and Jun smiled. Then, Jun turned towards Y/n and held a hand out. “Care to dance?” Laughing, Y/n took his hand and they began to dance. Feeling successful, Minghao made sure that the playlist would continue. Then, he and Ari slipped out of the room. Once Jun realised that it was just him and Y/n, he did something he's always wanted to do. Jun kissed her. -Admin R

Minghao x reader | When the Cherry Blossoms Fade - IOI requested by anonymous Minghao was waiting at the outdoor cafe for Y/n. He was ecstatic to see her, but also felt he was burdening himself, and most especially her. He knew he had a lot of practice to catch up on, but he really wanted to see her. Exams were also coming up for Y/n, so he hoped that this would be a nice break from studies. He saw Y/n in the distance and waved when she looked up. With a soft smile, she hurried over and gave Minghao a big hug. They took their seats at a nearby table and looked at the menu, chatting with each other. The food came, and that was when Y/n talked of her studies. She voiced her concerns over subjects that she had trouble with and said that she was trying all that she could, but felt it wasn't enough. She told him how frustrated she was. Minghao sent her a look of empathy, but he could only offer words of encouragement. That just seemed to darken her mood. She looked at him. “I came to take a break from studies, and most importantly, to see you. It lightened my mood, it really did. But I feel like I’m burdening you. You have practice right now, am I correct? You should've gone to practice instead of spending your time with me. To be honest, it’s a pain for me also. I should be focusing on my studies even more so because exams are in a few days. I don't even have most of the subjects down. This isn't working out how we really wanted.” Minghao opened his mouth to say something, but she continued on. “You're tired, I'm tired,” she sighed, “Listen. I think it's best we just… took a break from each other. Just how we've been doing the past month. We're both busy and we can't help it.” Y/n gave a saddened smile. She left her pay on the table and walked out. As she walked away, the cherry blossoms fell along with their relationship. Spring ended and then came summer. The couple hadn't spoken since that day in spring. They didn't admit it when Pretty U promotions first started, but they were falling apart. So when Y/n gave that little speech in spring, they basically just cut off connection. Their friends, however, tried to get them talking again once Y/n’s examination period had finished. The two avoided talking about the other as much as they could. Whenever it came to others who didn't know about the current situation, they'd simply say, “They're doing great. I'll tell them you said ____.” Y/n was out grocery shopping when she was stopped by a few Seventeen members; Soonyoung, Seungkwan, and Seokmin. They accompanied her as she shopped and even helped carry some of the bags to her apartment. The trio cracked many jokes, causing Y/n to laugh. Seokmin invited her to go hang out back at the dorm. He said that everyone missed her and wished she'd come again. Y/n would've declined, but she saw their pleading looks. Oh, the looks on their faces were those of relief and happiness. The group of four arrived at the dorm and suddenly all the members were at the door. Or well, most of them. Y/n gave a smile to them and hugged each of them. She didn't know why, but she was disappointed. Was it because Minghao wasn't there? No, it couldn't be. They had practically broken up two months ago. Minghao walked out of one of the rooms and saw her. He seemed to acknowledged her, but just kept going in the same direction, towards the kitchen. The whole time she was there, they'd ignore each other. The members noticed this and tried to get them to talk again, but to no avail, it failed each time. Sure, they'd exchange a few words when the members got them to talk to each other, but that was all. Honestly, Minghao was glad Y/n was doing great since the last time they'd spoken. But he didn't know what to do when he saw her again. He wanted to hug her again, and tell her that he missed her so much. But he wasn't sure if she even wanted to talk to him. But, oh how he didn't know how much she wanted to do the same. It was clear to the members of Seventeen that they wanted to talk again. So, when Seungkwan saw Minghao walk into his room, he brought Y/n to the room, claiming he had something amazing to show her. She wasn't aware of what was happening until the door shut behind her. There in front of her stood Xu Minghao. The one she used to love. Or so, that's what she thought. “Y/n? What are you doing in here?” he questioned. “You know, just got the guys to put me in here and trap us. The usual,” she replied, unconsciously tapping her foot in nervousness. He chuckled softly. “You were never good at heavy atmospheres. I know you feel a little uncomfortable with it weighing down on us so much. “I'm very much fine, okay? There's nothing bot-” Minghao shook his head and cut her off with a hug. There was comforting kind of silence that followed. “I missed you. So, so much,” Minghao started. “I missed you, too.” Pause. “I'm sorry.” Minghao pulled back so he could look at her face. “What for?” “For not making an effort. We were already going to shi-, I mean, we were already falling apart. I wanted us to stay together through it, but I guess my frustrations got the best of me. I was so driven to do good on the exams, that I shut you out. Actually, so much that I shut out everyone.” “It's okay. I could've stopped you that day too. But I didn't. I could've relieved your stress and let you loosen up. That day I was even thinking something stupid like, ‘Why am I doing this? We haven't spoken the past few weeks.’ I was so tired until I saw you. But then as we talked, I felt that I was just on autopilot.” “I guess you could say that we both at fault,” Y/n laughed. Just like that, the two were back to their old selves four months ago. They caught up with each other and talked until it was late. Minghao told Y/n to stay over, which she did. The members were so glad that Minghao and Y/n made up. They even spared them the rest of the night of teasing. With Y/n in his arms, Minghao would have the most peaceful sleep he's had in months. “Also my brother says hi and to square up. Minghao x vet assistant! reader requested by @little8 You were a second year biology major, working at a family friend’s veterinary hospital every other day. If anyone asked you, it was a great part-time job that not only put food on the table, but made the boring weeks tolerable. Being surrounded by the animals made you feel at peace, especially the cats. Halfway through the year, there was a new face. You first met him when you bought lunch for everyone. Everyone was sitting in their usual groups while he was all alone. Feeling bad, you sat with him for lunch. It was from there that the both of you got to know each other. His name was Minghao and he helped care for the dogs. Minghao was in the same year as you, but a dance major. Unfortunately, the two of you were from a different universities, so that scratched out hanging out between classes. But that didn't stop you two. Oh no, it did not. You and Minghao would hang out whenever the both of you were free; breaks, the weekend, you name it. Sometimes, you would go to where he was during work and watch him play with the dogs. Of course, you'd converse with each other while doing so. But whenever it was a comfortable silence, you'd always find yourself looking at him. You fell hard somewhere along past few months you had known him. You loved to see him play with dogs because that's when you could see his smile. He also had an adorable laugh whenever any of the dogs tried to lick him. Oh, and his eyes were so beautiful to you. Those brown eyes of his were always sparkling brightly. Watching him at that moment made you remember how different he can be when dancing. He had showed you a video of him doing a dance for a song Rock. It was a collaboration project with a couple other schools in the university. You noticed the cute gestures he made on parts you least expected. It made you notice that no matter what kind of dance he did, he’d always add something that shows you himself in other dances. He taught you some moves to the song after showing the video. It took time, but you eventually got the chorus. To be honest, you had the time of your life learning the choreography. He made it worth all the mistakes because in the end, you felt so accomplished. You also remembered when there was an exam coming up, Minghao had helped you study for it. While studying, you paid no attention to his actions. But looking back, you remember his eyes sparkling in fascination. After the exam, he would always ask you questions related to biology. He'd ask you to explain some procedures and sometimes you'd go on in your own world explaining to him, excited that he took an interest in your major. Coming back to reality, you realized he had said something to you. A light blush covered your cheeks as you asked him to repeat what he just said. “Do you want to play with the dogs too? You're always sitting over there when you talk to me.” You felt a tad bit disappointed that he hadn't asked something else. However, you happily joined him in playing with the dogs. It was much more fun than you thought. Maybe it was because you were with Minghao. Though you had developed feelings for him, you decided to stay like this for now.
