70 and 94 with V to MC <3
70. “You should break up with him/her/them”
94. “I think you’re amazing…even if I don’t say it much, I really do. The things you do…”
V wasn’t a member of the RFA that she had spoken to very much. He hadn’t spent a lot of time in the chat rooms, but when he did, she loved every moment of it. Talking to him felt comfortable, something that she hadn’t expected.
Another thing she hadn’t expected was him calling her. It made her happy, despite the circumstance she was in and he somehow caught onto her mood.
“MC? This may be a little out of place, but are you okay? You sound a little out of sorts.” V’s voice was soft and full of concern. It made her chest swell with happiness, but that turned to guilt.
“Don’t worry about it.” She said lightly, falling into one of the chairs into the apartment, curling up. “I’m avoiding a confrontation, and blatantly avoiding the consequences.”
“Now I’m definitely worried.” V said, and she laughed.
“I’ll tell you if you don’t judge me.”
“Scouts honor.” He promised her. She laughed slightly, but then went into her story.
“I’ve been dating this guy, and recently he’s gotten super overbearing. He’s convinced that I’m cheating on him at this very moment.” She huffed out.
“That’s our fault, isn’t it?” V sounded apologetic, and she quickly cut him off.
“No! No. I said recently, but now that I’m thinking about it, this is just the first time he’s had the chance to show this part of himself. Huh.” She mused for a second. V made a questioning noise and she continued. “Always with each other, that sort of thing. I guess I just felt good being wanted, but if this is us apart, I’m not sure that I want it.”
“You should break up with him.” V said suddenly and she blinked in surprise. She hadn’t been expecting that, but the idea stuck a fear, deep inside her.
“And what happens then?” She asked him, and she knew, even without his response that he was confused. “I’m alone. This is going to sound sad and pathetic, but losing that feeling of being wanted scares me.”
“You are wanted.” V said firmly, and she scoffed, but he continued before she could respond. “I want you. I think you’re amazing…even if I don’t say it much, I really do. The things you do…”
“You can’t mean that.” She brought a hand up to her mouth, trying to prevent herself from crying.
“I do. I mean it more than anything.” V said, voice not wavering. She couldn’t stop herself, and a sob found it’s way free. “MC?” He was startled.
“You made me cry.” She teased him, rubbing at her face.
“I’m not sorry. You needed to know that.” V said softly and she laughed. “Everything is going to be okay. Even without him.”
She felt the truth ring in his words, and she knew that she could do it. She couldn’t avoid confrontation any longer.
