@a-good-friday i hope they enjoy it! I know almost nothing about it apart from what the toys look like. I think I might remember reading way back that a Latina actress was cast as one of the rangers? So that's intriguing. But the whole concept strikes me as odd. Like, the promotional materials I've seen seems like it's trying to be Dark 'n' Gritty which is... weird and unnecessary.

@a-good-friday I believe that!! Honestly I feel like the environment that they cultivated just wasn't conducive to that kind of expression? I may not know what I'm talking about, but I feel like it's comparable to ballet vs. rhythm tap, two very different styles of dance I've studied. Ballet is all discipline and structure, and rhythm tap is kind of related to jazz. It'd be hard to teach rhythm tap effectively at a school that was very specialized in ballet because there just wouldn't be the right mindset for it.

@a-good-friday they overworked her, and there was very little communication. The audition process was basically a year of unpaid work, broken up into a few weeks at a time, never knowing if anything would come of it, but it took as much time as an actual job. And as dance captain she had to do like twice as many hours as the rest of the cast, but they never actually asked her if she wanted that job, they just gave it to her, and she was around our age while all that was going on.
