Since you also like GK, I’d say try Webster’s ‘Parachute Infantry’ as he frequently expressed his displeasure with incompetent officers/orders; it was also written closer to the events than any of the others so I consider it more accurate. Bill & Babe’s book 'Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends’ was a great read too.

Ray and Walt have made up but a certain bobcat isn’t satisfied with just being friends. Too bad it seems like no one wants to help him court Walt.

Big Cat Sanctuary (A Gen Kill AU)

Soooo @a-quick-drink and I went crazy (really when is that ever a surprise?) and came up with a giant Generation Kill AU involving a big cat sanctuary and cat shifters.  We pretty much decided we’re both writing snippets of it when we can.  There may actually be plot at some point, but doubtful, haha.  Still working out the details, but we’ve got plenty to start with.  For the moment they’ll be here on Tumblr, although maybe if we get a lot we’ll put it together in something comprehensible to put on AO3.  Tagged: Big Cat Sanctuary AU

With that said...  I should be working on my novel but instead I’m currently writing my first tidbit.  *waves white flag*

The GK boys visiting a haunted house? Like you know it was probably all Ray's idea to go in the first place, and he was probably full of talk about how totally not scary it'd be yet wound up clinging to whoever was within reach through most of it.

OMG yes!  It is all Ray’s fault.  And who does he cling to?  Walt of course.  Who just laughs the entire time.

Nate is adorable.  He jumps at every scare, afterward giving a little nervous laugh and pressing back against Brad just a little, like making sure he was there.  Brad attempts to keep a straight face, but by the end he’s smiling cause of Nate’s little tick.  At least Nate wasn’t basically crawling into his arms like Ray.  Poor Walt.

Gunny and Poke both laugh at the attempts to scare a bunch of “stone cold killers.”  And Poke even manages to scare one of the staff in turn.

One would have thought Christeson would have been the one with his face buried in Q-Tip’s back but quite the opposite has seemed to occur.  Stafford’s arms are wrapped around Christeson, clinging to his shirt whenever he jumps.  Not that Christeson isn’t squealing right along with him, running into Gunny more than once.  Gunny just pats him on the head.

Kocher bumps his shoulder with Doc’s every time the Corpsman mumbles about “Why the fuck are we doing this pussy ass shit again?”  Kocher admits this isn’t his thing either but it’s nice to come out and spend time with the rest of the guys, Doc’s surliness included.

When they all manage to make it through, Ray kisses the ground and tells Brad to fuck off when he suggests they go again.  Stafford is actually being given a piggyback ride, muttering for Poke to shut up when he laughs at him from where his face is buried in Christeson’s neck.

Pappy and Rudy are waiting for them, the latter meditating on the bench while Pappy just smiles at the sight of them.  He had claimed he was too old for such nonsense and naturally Rudy wasn’t about to leave his partner behind- even if he’d been intrigued.

Of course they had just managed to notice they were missing a couple people when said laggers appeared.  More than one of them barked out a laugh at the sight of Patterson walking with his eyes closed, Barrett guiding him.  “You can open your eyes now,” Barrett said dryly, shaking his head at Patterson’s muttered, “Oh thank God.”  (You’re welcome.)

“Alright Marines,” Ray announced, breathing finally under control.  “We’re doing the corn maze next.”

Nate looked at Brad in challenge.  Oh, it was so on.

Radical Red:Aesthetic? ummm i don’t even know but i guess all the pretty things and all the foodie things ;D 

Mulberry:Favorite vegetable? right now spinach. spinach everythiiiing (well except smoothie cuz nooo i’m not drinking my veggies) but sauted spinach and sada mmm. spinach in soup mmm. spinach in eggs yumm :) and to think i never used to eat it :D

Sea Green:Favorite animal? well i have  a dog but i’ve been around cats too, so i like em both.

Timberwolf:Movie theater or Netflix? both i guess. certain movies i must see on the big screen tho.
