Talk about an ex best friend?

We were friends for a pretty long time and we always only were friends because we didn’t go to the same classes but every summer we were in the same summer camp for two weeks and we were best friends in these two weeks and two years ago we didn’t stop being best friends after the camp and done almost everything together! She was so funny and cute but you couldn’t be serious with her because she always laughed but it was okay for me as we were young and carefree and didn’t have problems to talk about. I really loved her and I still kinda do because I very much enjoyed the years and moments with her :)

A23D: A 3D-Printed Letterpress Font

The story of the birth of the worlds first uniquely designed, 3D printed Letterpress font.

Today I was lucky enough to sit in and listen to Richard Ardagh talk about his experience of developing a 3D Printed Letterpress font. The project involved mixing an old process of letterpress, one usually confined to wood type that has existed for ages, and using new technology to have a font created and then built using 3D printers.

The result was brilliant and fellow Viscommers may recognise the Specimens in the computer room. A brilliant in depth video can be found here.

The process involved having a typeface created by A2, who have created typefaces for the Independent and many other noteworthy publications. Masters of their art.

And the 3D print was then made a reality by Chalk Studio who printed it type high and to a 0.3mm accuracy. 

A very interesting concept and it's great to see how an initial idea and spark can develop in to something fantastic such as this!
