ID# A4857429 Becky | Dogue de Bordeaux Mix BECKY is a resilient and athletic 2-year-old brown-and-white female Dogue de Bordeaux mix who was found in South El Monte on July 20th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing 58 lbs, Becky is a serenely beautiful dog who, despite having lived what we suspect has been a difficult life, remains quite a well-adjusted and loving girl. Becky arrived at the shelter with signs of neglect on her body that lead us to believe she has spent most of her time outdoors, perhaps for breeding purposes. For example, she currently suffers from some alopecia (temporary hair loss due to poor diet and environmental factors). While Becky’s skin may need some TLC, she has a winning personality. Becky passed her shelter-administered temperament test with an A grade! This means that she is non-reactive around other dogs, as well as attentive and sociable with people. We have seen for ourselves how curious and sporty Becky is. She has a solid medium energy level and shows signs of being housebroken. Though she doesn’t seem familiar with the concept of a leash and tends to pull when her handler walks with her, she is accepting of it being around her neck and seems open to learning! Becky is ready and eager to meet her forever family and learn the training basics that will teach her the ways of being a spectacular dog companion. She will be a great pal for an active family looking for an exercise buddy, and we think she will get along well with children old enough to teach her fetch and other games to keep her mind engaged.
