A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4E Skyhawk from Attack Squadron 56 "Champions" dropping a bomb over Vietnam. VA-56 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 5 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga for a deployment to Vietnam from 29 September 1965 to 13 May 1966.

Douglas A-4 Skyhawk compact, carrier-capable attack aircraft used extensively by USMC), as well as USN and several foreign air forces. Carried 2x 20mm cannons, up to 9,900 lbs of bombs/rockets/missiles VMA-121, VMA-214, VMA-311, and VMA-211 were among those flying A-4s in combat.
