so ive had some insane brainworms as i work on this nicole and diluc piece and ive been thinking, bcs im making it with the theory that nicole = first angel/koitar in mind, is what the first angel's name is

it could be koitar straight up - its a name of finnish origin and as she had ties to hyperborea, it could be that the frostmoon scions recorded her name accurately

however, the frostmoon scions have alternate names for many of teyvats higher beings, plus hyperborea seems to use greek names plus angels seem to have names of varying origin (yohualtecuhtin and sybilla for example) so she could also have a russian or slavic name due to her ties to snezhnaya

notably as well, is that being the goddess of the dawnstar and a rebellious angel, she also has parallels to lucifer, which in turn also has ties to venus (aka the planet which was known as the morning star)

i was gonna make a list but at the moment i would put Eosphorus or Heosphorus* as my best guess (greek god of the morning star)? possibly Eos herself (greek goddess of the dawn) but Heosphorus has the closer connection to lucifer sooo

*aka Phosphorus but given thats also an element name i feel hoyo would go with the other variations

so uh. soma's short story in the latest Spin anthology. that might be my favourite from anything he's ever written Ever

girl where else will i read a story abt a series of wisdom tooth extractions that end up in this cosmic/body horror of travelling into a hole opening in someone's root canal. it is also possibly a love story? what the fuck? what the fuck (it's so fucking good like i cannot explain it.)

‘ laurel ! ‘ alisaie was on her knees in an instant, hovering protectively over her fallen friend. it was a nasty hit, by the looks of it. ‘ why would you do such a careless thing ? i had it covered, i would’ve been . . . ‘ injured, again. the confident facade alisaie wore began slipping out of place, something she only began noticing around laurel.

the red mage placed a hand over the warrior’s arm and channeled her remaining mana to heal her. ‘ . . . i’m sorry. i didn’t want you getting hurt. i won’t get in your way like that again. ‘
