FREAKS PART 2: Spindle :)

okay so their whole thing is like. being a "failed" experiment of Surgeon's... kind of. not exactly failed and more so escaped and became a failure in Surgeon's eyes- toMATo, TOMato.

they used to be in a wheelchair (while being admitted into Surgeon's care, at least) and, because of the weird biological properties conscripts tend to have, it merged into their back when it escaped. now they have an eternally difficult time walking and their legs constantly crack and pop but hey at least they have cool back arm things to help balance!

now they've just become a kind of ghost story among soldiers. watch out for the scary giant ghost of a missing soldier that'll eat you! are they a ghost? well. no. but would it eat soldiers? up for debate! it does occasionally enjoy spooking them from time to time, at least :)

...however, if they do ever revisit Surgeon's tent, uhhh.... absolutely nobody is going to have to good time once they realize Surgeon has, in fact, not changed one bit, and is still using soldiers for experiments even MORE so now. hooray

I don't have much written down in terms of dialogue and mechanics and all that jazz yet but I still do have the concept so!!! and I finally decided to redraw 'em,,,,

honestly I do think they escaped for inherently selfish reasons. it was tired of being stuck there. it didn't want this. and then the, uh, eye modifications, we'll say, came along and they were like. fuuuuck no I am OUT

yet they will alllllways feel guilty for leaving the other patients there. I imagine there was a moment of a bitter (on its side at least), cut-short goodbye with Crutches and Bandaged (I think this was before Handface & Facehand came along) before the Surgeon would notice. and then they never see Spindle again. hooray.

don't ask where they found that fit, they like keeping their secrets /silly
