Australian Assoc Boutique Winemakers Design Competition
Last Tuesday night I had the privilege of attending the AABW Design Competition Awards Night. In April I judged the competition, along with a group of other judges. We all agreed that the standard was tremendous and an assurance that branding, packaging and label design is being taken very seriously amongst Australian and New Zealand winemakers.
In judging the competition we had to consider the label design, stock used, back label, legal requirements, bottle shape and colour, and closures.
We saw some of the designs prior to arriving at the judging, I had a preconceived idea as to what my favourite would be, just check out earlier blog posts, as I posted a few. However, when you actually see the whole bottle put together some of the labels I previously loved lost their appeal, whilst some I had dismissed where transformed when seen as a whole product.
Anyway the winners are, in particular order, other than the order they are filed............
