There was something Hanna had learned over the course of time that simply forced her to realize that she too, wasn’t entirely as innocent as she would like to be. Whenever skin would itch and an uncomfortable feeling would settle in, alongside the sudden rush of heat through her body, that was when she knew that another being similar to herself was close by. And she hated, loathed, downright despised the fact that she could feel their presence when all she wanted to do was to ignore and carry on with her mundane life.
Whatever blessing that life had supposedly granted her when she was thrown into this world was nothing but a curse to the brunette who preferred the lifestyle she already had. She took no joy in that other side of hers, in one she so desperately tried to suppress each time it dared to surface. So, how was she going to deal with this new challenge today?
The way she usually did: by observing.
❝Who are you?❞ The question was barely audible and meant for only Hanna herself, as she let her eyes curiously gaze over the crowd of people that surrounded her. Who could it be, the person with the strange powers she couldn’t quite classify? Her magic only allowed herself to understand things to a certain extent and since she had never sharpened her skills, it was more than understandable why Hanna struggled with picking out the person who was, similar to her, a being that was capable of offering a lot more than what one would dare to assume at first.
So she wandered around the place at first, stepping closer to some people and accidentally brushing others with her elbows, hands, maybe even body. She had learnt over time that physical contact could oftentimes prove to be a trigger that would allow for her to differentiate the seeked one from everyone else. Besides, the power that was electrifying her fingertips wasn’t strong enough to harm anyone.
Hanna was complex for not wanting to deal with her true nature, and hypocritical for the fact that she was still interested in other people’s business regardless of who or what they truly were.
Are you sure you don’t care, little girl?
She met eyes with someone very briefly, and her gaze dropped almost as quickly but there was something about the way the stranger looked at her that captivated the student as she allowed for dry lips to part, a barely audible chuckle escaping her soon afterwards.
Found you.
