Happy Birthday, my friend.
I was going to get you something thoughtful, meaningful, and impossible to forget. Then I remembered you've already got that whole "effortlessly cool and ridiculously talented" thing covered, so the pressure was off.
What I can give you is this: gratitude.
Gratitude for your friendship, your kindness, your wisdom, and for being the sort of person who makes every room better simply by showing up in it. You're one of those rare people who can be deeply serious when it matters, completely hilarious when it doesn't, and generous in both moments.
I hope this year brings you challenges worth taking on, adventures worth remembering, and plenty of reasons to laugh until your face hurts.
And if it doesn't, we'll make some up.
