Whumpmas in July - Day 12: Warmth

I know I´m a little bit late (again) but I was (and I still am) extremely busy. So I really don´t know who much I will post for whumpmas in july. However, I didn´t want to leave out day 12 so here it is:

Years ago

Vanya crouched behind her wall rubbing her cold hands together. Even though she wore warm gloves her fingers were freezing and her breath formed white clouds in front of her. Everthing was silent - or at least it seemed to be. Suddenly, Vanya heard the snow crunch right behind her but it was too late and she didn´t even have time turn around. Out of nowhere, Vanya felt something cold in her neck running down her back under the thick jacket. Her squeak mixed with laughter behind her.

"I got you. I won - again."

"That´s not fair. You cheated." Vanya stamped her foot angrily and grimaced at her brother.

"I didn´t", Aaris laughted. "Come on, it´s getting dark and we should probably head home. You´ll get your revenge tomorrow."

She followed her brother but not before she tried to throw him off too with a snowball - unsuccessfully.

Finally home, her toes were competely numb, her nose was running and all she wanted was to feel the warmth of their house.Their mother took them both in her arms and a steaming pot of soup was waiting to fill their bellies and warm them up again.

Finally warm again and lying under her thick and warm blanket Vanya listened to her mother telling old tales about misterious creatures and beings - once living here but now long gone. Despite the terrible war still going on and the poverty they lived in, Vanya knew in this very moment that she was safe, protected, loved, and happy and that was all that mattered.

Guess wo started Hyperfixating on Transformers again...

I'm revamping an old concept I had for three Predacon boys who could combine to create a Cerberus/Chimera esca creature.

They see each other as brothers, with Thanator (the one with the horns) being eldest, Aaris (boy with his mane put back) the Youngest, and Baron sitting in the middle.

I'm probably dump more doodles later, along with a bit of lore if I feel up to it.
