Somehow, I forgot to post this until now. A week ago I got to see The Color Morale for the 9th time. I am so thankful for these guys, they mean the world to me. Their shows never fail to make me feel at home and to remind me that people care. 💖 Getting to see Our Last Night and Hands Like Houses again was great too! I wasn't familiar with Out Came The Wolves prior to the show, but I enjoyed their set as well.
// you hugged me and told me i was beautiful and for once i actually believed it. i miss you //
Last night was by far my favorite night. I got to see my favorite band, The Color Morale, for the third time. And I have to say third time is the charm! These last three years of being a fan has gotten me through some crazy shit and I’m so thankful for all of you.
Garret was the first person I talked to the entire night. He made it seem like he recognized me from Warped Tour or at least knew of me! We talked for a bit, I’m really awkward and make a fool of myself. Especially in front of my favorite people. I bought a tshirt, complained about the cold and then got back in line to buy a flag. Because these guys will ALWAYS have all of my support. I said to Garret, “Hey! Can I be annoying for a second and ask you to write tattoo lyrics?!” And he instantly said “You’re NOT being annoying. This is such a great honor” AND then he hugged me and said “If you say you’re annoying one more time I’m going to smack you!”... AGH almost died.
Then we found our spot for the show. Out Came the Wolves put on such an amazing set! I’ve never heard of them before but they were awesome!!! THEN MY BOYS CAME ON!! I went hard on every song, got into it every fucking second. Sang from my heart and soul even though I can’t sing. Garret made me cry. Devin and I continously made eye contact and I was still belting it and singing. Gosh, these guys are seriously the best. Devin threw the guitar pick towards me and I went and grabbed it instantly! Their set was by far my favorite!
Next was Hands Like Houses! Their set was INCREDIBLE! I haven’t really listened to their music that much but I really wish I had! They put on such an incredible show!! Lastly was Our Last Night, again another band I really never heard of or listened but boy I wish I did! They really got into every single second of the entire show. I really loved their entire set. I even got tot grab hands with the lead singer!
Then afterwards, I went directly to The Color Morale’s merch table and I saw Steve. I started talking to him. And he saw my tank top and was like “WOW” and then I mentioned my tattoo and he said “yeah! I’ve actually seen that one before and it’s beautiful!” ...almost started crying right then and there. I got lots of hugs!
I really wanted to talk Devin because we always make eye contact during the show and plus he’s one of my favorite members! I instantly walked up to him and was like “HI! I got the guitar pick!” And he said that he purposely tried throwing it to me since I was singing every single song. I got like three hugs from him. And of course the selfie! He was just so thankful and we talked for a few minutes which is something I never ever get to do with band members.
I really didn’t get to talk to Aaron and Mike that much but we still got pictures and I got them to sign everything. I hope next time I can talk to them more!
Seriously thank you to Garret, Devin, and Steve especially for talking to me and making my night with the little things and comments you said to me!
I normally don’t post about music on this blog as this is my personal account for art, funny stuff, politics, and chronic illness related posts, but I’m making an exception for this. :)
This band, The Color Morale, means the world to me. Their music has helped me to get through so much and has helped me to cope with the things I deal with in a healthy, positive way. I’ve made some amazing, lifelong friends through the band. Their shows give me a place to belong and they feel like home. I’ll never be able to express how thankful I am for them enough.
This is one of the singles off of their new album Desolate Divine, titled “Walls”. They’ll be playing it every night on tour this fall so make sure you listen to it and watch the music video for it. If they’re coming to your city or town I highly recommend going to the show, you will not be disappointed. You can check their tour dates and find tickets here!
