This blog is inspired by the YouTube show Junkyard Joust by Aaron Yonda.. Mr. Yonda’s great set design, sound design, editing, and voice over talents turn a potentially silly idea into a truly entertainng show. I don’t intend for anyone to confuse this blog with what he is doing. It looked like fun so I thought I’d try to do it, and it is a lot of work. My bare bones text and short video version is meant to give you an appetite for the real thing. For Mr. Yonda this is a professional endeavor, where he is demonstrating and refining several skills related to the entertainment and media industries. For me, this is less-expensive hobby than most (most of these cars cost about a dollar) and since my normal thing is bugs and mushrooms, will hopefully give me a diversion during the long boring winter. No one told me to write this, but I thought it was worthwhile to distinguish this fan blog from the real thing, in case Mr. Yonda ever stumbles upon it. I found that someone is using the same title for their podcast as my old one, and felt lots of emotions about it. Then I watched the most recent Junkyard Joust, which included a bunch of cars that I JUST got, and realized that Mr. Yonda would probably have similar not-completely-positive feelings if he saw this blog. When you see my Wolverine and Princess peach come down the ramp, that’s the equivalent fan-fiction. Also his Mario Kart team was called “the Red Shells” which is way cooler than mine: “Kart Krash.”
