broooooooooo. i just read your tags for the nazism/kkk post and all i could think was that most kids in american schools don't know we committed mass genocide against the native americans. they don't mention it at all in social studies or anywhere else in school.

THANK you! I know! Two people (from the US) have already told me that you dont learn about it in school which is super messed up. like you grow up blindly idolizing the US and dont get taught about the mistakes of your ancestors

now growing up in Germany is the exact opposite (I pretty much explained it all in the tags) we have no national pride at all. If we did we'd get called racist by everyone immediately. Which is ironic because our country fight against racism by LAW, we get taught how cruel and vile the Hitler regime was and I dont see Ferguson level shit happen here. Germany is very accepting and liberal compared to the US

anyways I because I had to grow up like this I am all for letting past mistakes of ancestors be past and not make us hate our own country because of things that happened years ago BUT I do think it is important to constantly acknowledge, mourn and remember the people that died in our countries genocides because of our ancestors

should be a blend of both yknow?
