Spending the evening at the African American Women and Law Conference convened by Barbara Arnwine, founder of the Transformative Justice Coalition, at the National Education Association. I reconnected with Claudia Muhammad. We traveled to United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China with Barbara and Dr. Dorothy Height in 1995. My first #BlackGirlMagic moment of the confetence was hugging and talking to Cheryl Poinsette Brown, my first mentor and legal role model. My second #BlackGirlMagic moment was listening to a panel discussion featuring Barbara, Michelle Bernard, CEO of Bernard Center for Women, Politics & Public Policy, and Kimberle Crenshaw, African American Policy Forum/Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies. #AAWLC2016 #BlackWomen #BlackWomenLawyers
