AAYLC 2011
So yesterday was almost a perfect day. I woke up at 5:40, got dressed and had a burrito for breakfast. Blossom came around 6:30 to pick me up for school. We were one of the last people to get there, and it was kinda awkward. Anyway, we sat and waited for 10 minutes while they took attendance. I ran to drop my usb stick off for Mr. Kirnak and we boarded the bus.
It was a super long bus ride. When we got there, they led us to the cafeteria where we had our breakfast. While all the adults were still trying to organize everything together, our group decided to pull out the cards and started playing. We had two quick rounds of Thirteen and probably the longest round of BS I've ever played. Finally we were off to our first event in the gym, where they introduced the purpose of AAYLC, and etc. The whole thing was pretty boring, at least until they turned off all the lights and showed us this video made by one of the students. As soon as the first 2 seconds were played, I knew exactly what the title and band of the kpop song playing was. My heart naturally, began beating 10x faster and I started bouncing up and down in my seat while listening to B2ST's "I Like You The Best".
Then from there on, we were separated into different groups to go to the little workshops with. It was also during this time that I realized I had lost my bag they had given us containing the schedule for the day and my AAYLC shirt. So I had to go get another replacement bag. (only they didn't have any more small sizes so I had to settle with a medium sized shirt :/)
The workshops were pretty boring, they mostly just talked about college and the future. Then at lunch, Moon Patrol came to perform for us. That was the only interesting part for the first half of our day.
After lunch, the day finally started getting more entertaining. There were two more workshops after that, and those two actually wasn't so boring. We did a stereotypical stimulation game in the first one; and in the second one played straight face, killer, and the looking game.
Finally it was time to go home and we loaded back on the bus. From the time we loaded the bus till when we arrived back at school, I was laughing nonstop. I'm surprised I didn't get abs from all the laughing. We played the straight face game and the game where we couldn't say the word "yes, ya, or no". It's a lot hard than it sounds haha. Anyway, the whole time we were playing, I felt really bad because we were being so loud and obnoxious compared to the ISB kids in the back. But I was having too much fun to worry about the noise for too long. When we arrived back at school, I half wished the trip would've longer because I didn't want our game to end.
After everyone got into separate cars and headed home, Blossom and I drove to Dollar Trees to look for a birthday card. There was still an 2 hours before the party started so we crashed at my place until it was time to go. We tried to pass the time by watching Family Guy, How I Met Your Mother, and Two And a Half Men. It was past 7, and my mom still wasn't home. I didn't have the keys and we needed to wait for her to come back to lock the place up. Anyway, we waited for hours and I finally decided to run outside to check if her car was still there. And it was. Just as I got back inside, the bedroom door opened and she came out. "What's going on, why haven't you guys left for the party yet?" she asked. At that moment, I felt like the most stupidest idiot on the planet. She was in there the whole time and I never bothered to check. So after they all finished making fun of me, we finally left for the party.
The party was even smaller than I expected it. I knew there wouldn't be that much people, but I didn't think it'd be that little. The three of us: Blossom, Tyler, and I settled in and grabbed each a slice of pizza. They were in the middle of playing Rock Band. After we finished eating they turned off Rock Band and decided to play something else. How the game works is, everyone get three little pieces of paper, then they write a word or something that the same sex would easily guess right, and after putting everyone's piece in the bowl we would pass it around and try to guess the word without actually saying it. Anyway, so Blossom decided to put "tampons" as one of the words. When we finally started the game, it was the girls' turn and the description of the word was: this month. There was a second of silence before I blurted out "tampons". The girl shook her head, looked at me and said the word was "April". Before I knew it, my face started to heat up and everyone was laughing at me. Wow, what a great first impression. We played for a little bit more, had some cake, and left. Before heading out the door, one of the girls said, "oh yeah, high five for the tampon thing". And I just wanted to bury my face.
Yeap, that was my whole day yesterday. It was almost a perfect day until Blossom decided to tell me the most disturbing, sickening news yet. I think I barfed a little in my mouth. If I could erase or unknow something, that would be exactly it. Yes, that unpleasant.
I got home, took a shower, and decided to catch up on Vampire Diaries. Unfortunately, the video was too laggy so I decided to head to bed. I wanted to wake up early today, study, and go to school for the study session thing with Kirnak. That was the plan anyway. But having only 2 hours of sleep the night before and spending the whole day running around, I wasn't able to wake up until late at 1 in the afternoon. I guess I'll just study on my own at home. I'm just freaking out because it still feels like Sunday night! Thank god it's not though.
