Basta ang saya saya!

Wala kong pake kung di mo basahin basta popost ko to!

Hindi ko naman aakalain na mas lalo ko pang ma-eenjoy ang course na to. Di ko alam ah pero ito yung nararamdaman ko ngayon eh... Nag-eenjoy talaga ako as in. Tapos mas ganado na akong pumasok ngayon at madalas nang ayaw umabsent. Pero depende rin kung sinumpong ng kabadtripan! =)))))

Nag-eenjoy na din ako sa isang prof namin ngayon. Prof kasi namin siya sa apat na major subjects tuwing TTH. Dati, ayaw na ayaw ko dun! Madalas ko pa ngang tulugan yung subject niya nung 1st year ako kasi talagang nakaka-antok yung boses niya. Pero ngayong naging prof namin siya sa mga major subjects namin, Hindi ko in-expect na gaganahan din pala ako sa klase niya. Pramis! Mas na-appreciate ko ang professor na yun kesa noon. Alam niyo yun!? Yung feeling na parati na lang may katatawanan na topic sa klase niya? Na di ko ine-expect na tumatawa din pala siya sa mga mabababaw na jokes namin? Kasi naman! Dati hindi mo mapapatawa yun. Nakakaantok pa siya kung magdiscuss noon tapos kelangan seryoso ka at walang tawa-tawa pag magdi-discuss siya. Pero ngayon iba eh! Mas lalo pa namin siyang nakilala! Tapos ang nakakatuwa lang, Pag mag o-open siya ng isang topic, Bigla na lang kung saan-saan mapupunta yung storya... Paano ba naman! Ga-gatungan din ng mga kaklase ko na mahilig sa mga kwento at comedy na usapan. At oo nga pala! Mas lalo akong nabilib sa prof na yun kasi graduate pala siya ng Ateneo at UP, At nag PH.D pa! nbdgljdfhf Punyeta! Big time pala si Sir! Hindi lang nagsasalita. Hindi kasi siya mayabang.

Sa mga kasama ko naman sa classroom, Deputa!!! Ang saya saya ko parati! As in bawat oras yata, Nakalabas yung gilagid ko kakatawa sa mga discussion namin. Sinamahan pa ng mga nakakatawang tawa ng mga tao na yun! sflgfkjgkjkjhgkljds Basta sobrang enjoy ako ngayon! At narealize ko na, Ang sarap pala sa pakiramdam na kasama mo ang kapwa-kacourse mo, Yung para lang kayong isang section? (Konti lang kasi kaming Journ na 2ndyear) Basta yun! Kahit marami akong kaibigan sa ibang course, Mas laughtrip at masaya kasama mga ka-course ko. Huehue

Matutunan mo talagang ma-appreciate ang isang tao o bagay kapag parati mo tong nakakasama. Yung bigla bigla mo na lang masasabi na, "Oo nga... Masisiyahan ka rin pala kapag marunong kang makinig at makisama."

Hi, that’s great to hear! Most people disregard taking up liberal arts courses nowadays. Well, that’s a hard question but I’ve posted an answer before that I think quite well explained it, which you can read here.

I don’t mean to scare you or anything but I think Journalism does require you to be good in English and/or writing. It’s a course where you have to write a lot of papers and most professors prefer for them to be written in English. But don’t worry, you’ll probably have a course on Academic Writing :)

And no problem. I love answering questions about Journalism. But I’m afraid I’m not quite the authority to ask from because I’m only on my second year :/ Although it is nice to hear people inquiring about Journalism :)

I'd love to tell you who I am but I'm using a different account. :) I don't really have time to change accounts now, I'm sorry... Anyway, yes! I know exactly how you feel! (Not just with the 'taksil sa inang bayan' but also with the reblogging thing!) What year are you in? And are there times when not being able to write that well in filipino became a disadvantage? (It became a bit of a problem to me in high school...)

Not at all, most professors actually prefer writing papers in English. Some just give you the liberty to choose which language you prefer writing on. I even wrote my papers in Lit102(Phil. Lit) in English :))

I think it will become a problem to me this school year because I’ll finally have my Filipino subject (yikes). If you don’t mind my asking, how? :)

Do you need to be good at writing in tagalog to do well in Journalism? Because I suck at writing and expressing myself in filipino and ends up putting an emoticon to get my feelings out /sigh But I can speak in filipino. Just can't write in filipino.

No, not really. Most newspapers in the Philippines nowadays are printed in English so that shouldn’t be a problem. Same here! :)) Somehow, I always end up code-switching because there are things I don’t know how to express in Filipino.

Mahirap po ba ang journalism?

Hmmm… all courses are difficult, they just differ on the subjects you study and the work that you do.

For Journalism students, I think there are two difficult points:

First is all the reading you have to do and comprehend. You have to comprehend what you read because you’re going to present it in front of people. You can’t explain something very well if you don’t understand it that much yourself. It helps if you’re a wide reader of books, but sometimes there are readings that you just can’t finish or just can’t understand. Sometimes both.

The second one is writing. There are times when you have so many thoughts on a reading but you just can’t seem to put it down on paper. My advice is to practice writing everyday. What forms of writing? Anything, whether it be fiction or non-fiction. Poetry, Short stories, your opinion on the current events (not necessarily news), how your day went. Anything goes. Just jot down your thoughts.

Sorry if I answered this in English. I feel like if I wrote my answer in Filipino, I’d be “conyo”. And I hate being conyo lol.
